Costa Coffee — Restaurant in Carlisle

Just been into this Costa to get two coffees before catching a train, staff were friendly at first, I ordered with no problem, paid with no issue but then while waiting for my drink bless her the young lady making the drink was clear just in training and was starting to get overwhelmed with orders, this is where I would expect the more senior staff member to jump in and help but no, said staff member just continued to bark drinks at the poor woman, as this was happening the young trainee starting to panic and rush knocking over a bottle of milk which unfortunately covered myself and another customer, she quickly apologized and then attempted to come around the counter to help us get cleaned up, the senior staff member then rudely told her to go back to making the drinks, offered a lack luster apology to myself and the other customer before being more concerned about the milk on the floor instead of offering myself and the other gentleman something to clean the milk off ourselves. All in all I hope the young lady in training is okay and doesn't feel awful for what happened as it was just an accident and it happens to us all but to the senior staff member being in charge isn't about bark order out and overwhelming your staff, it about leading with example and supporting your team if they are starting to struggle and your customer should always come first don't worry about split milk on the floor ensure the customer is cleaned up first and not leaving the store unhappy and dissatisfied with there encounter as they might just leave a bad review..... I regularly visit this Carlisle branch next to the train station and the staff are always fantastic and food always good. This complaint is not about any Costa staff but about a delivery driver from out with the company. He is causing so many health and safety concerns and I was only in the shop for 15 mins. He came to bring the delivery through the front entrance and the staff member kindly asked him to go to the back entrance where deliveries are supposed to go and he refused. So an incredibly busy wednesday morning this guy rolled large deliveries through the customer que to the back of the store. He then proceeded to roll the empty crates back through the customers. The staff member kindly asked him several times to go through the correct way out the back but the arrogance of this driver was unreal and instead of doing as asked had to manoeuvre large trolleys through customers. It is already a small area to qué and on his way out the qué was nearly by the door so the number of customers he could of hurt with the trolleys is bad. Best latte I've ever had, and lattes take up a lot of my funds.

Lady with the blue hair, didn't catch her name as I'm blind as bat, super helpful and understanding. I emphasized to her to make sure it's oat milk as a drop of regular milk leaves me in agony for days, and my local Costa up north multiple times served me regular milk even though I clearly specified oat. I am ASD diagnosed so when I express my anxieties, people take it as assumed incomptence, insult, rudeness etc. She just took me at face value and let me watch her pour the oat milk which was reassuring to me

The general atmosphere is calm and quiet, dim lighting spacious with plenty of seating with charging sockets. not overstimulating whatsoever.
