Huffkins Café and Tea Room never fails to impress. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you feel instantly at home. The cosy setting, charming décor, and friendly staff create the perfect environment for a relaxing break, whether you’re stopping by for a quick coffee or indulging in a full afternoon tea experience.
The service is, as always, fantastic. The staff are attentive, polite, and always go the extra mile to ensure a pleasant visit. They are knowledgeable about the menu, happy to offer recommendations, and provide service with a genuine smile. It’s this consistency in hospitality that makes Huffkins stand out.
The food is beautifully presented and just as delicious as it looks. Whether you opt for a light bite, a hearty meal, or one of their famous pastries, everything is prepared to perfection. The scones are a particular highlight—freshly baked, wonderfully fluffy, and served with generous portions of clotted cream and jam. Their sandwiches and cakes are equally delightful, making it an ideal spot for afternoon tea.
Drinks are equally impressive, with a wide selection of teas, expertly brewed coffee, and refreshing cold beverages. Each drink is carefully prepared, ensuring the perfect balance of flavor and warmth. Thanks to Dom and his incredible team.

Service was first class - staff couldn't have been more helpful or attentive ....well done!
Food & drinks selection was extensive, without overwhelming with too many confusing choices.
Our group of 3 chose a mix of teas, cold drinks and cakes - Presentation was excellent - but to be fair - quality was mixed ...from very good to poor (e.g. eclair cream not good and chocolate was very rubbery). Let's hope this was just an unlucky one-off / gets sorted out.
Back to the overwhelmingly positive overall experience ... Despite being very busy - it didn't feel overcrowded ....and if you can get a table right at the front of the store - you get both a slightly quieter experience and a good overhead view of fellow shoppers coming in, if you want to people-watch.
As two suggestions - I would say Huffkins need to improve their customer queuing approach - I felt sorry for those in the queue - and those at tables immediately adjacent. Perhaps they could queue closer to the excellent cake display area - as it seemed a shame that most customers would not see this (much, if a all) in the way things were currently set up.
There seemed to be under used space immediately next to the cafe at the front - perhaps this could be expanded into ...which might help keep those queues down at busy times.
Overall - A great place to stop and refresh yourselves, when taking in all the rest of the store...
Read moreI went into the Cafe today with my small dog, as it has recently been advertised as a dog friendly Cafe. After waiting and being shown to an empty table, I took a seat and put her on my lap, as I normally do (particularly when the floor is dirty, as it was the case, I’d rather she doesn’t lay down on dirt). To my surprise (and that of the 4 people sitting on both sides of my table), I was told by a male waiter that I had to put her on the floor. No room for reasoning, he insisted that due to past customer complaints (none of those present at the time) dogs could not be “at table height” … I thought it was ridiculous (I know I am biased as like many dog owners, I love my small fluffy fiend). So I had no choice but to cancel my order and leave (my table neighbours on both sides equally shocked by the lack of flexibility on the part of the waiter, when my dog was going to sleep on my lap without causing anything other than admiration by those present). So be aware that it is a dog “friendly” Cafe with rigid rules and if you happen to have a tall dog, who doesn’t want to lay down on a dirty floor, you’ll probably be asked to leave as he/she won’t be allowed to be at “table height”. Needless to say we won’t be...
