I have been really debating about putting this review up as I was so disappointed on the day, but the staff were very friendly and I don't want to have a go at them. I'd found the deal on Groupon and purchased it as my friend's Christmas present. We arrived and told the staff we had a reservation. They had no details of this and asked for our Groupon code, after several minutes one of the nice ladies behind the counter managed to find it on my phone - I had thought I wouldn't need it as the reservation was made through the Groupon app, but my mistake. After an awkward couple of minutes I said that we'd not been before and somebody finally offered up where the seating was, there was no reserved table. One of the girls then asked if we wanted blueberries on our pancakes, to which we said yes. We went upstairs, then figured out that there was no drink included so my friend went downstairs to get drinks. I meanwhile looked at the Groupon on my phone and realised the choice was blueberries or chipolatas. No big deal. We hadn't realised, it didn't really matter and we were looking forward to these famous American pancakes. The pancakes came, and oh my life. They were British style pancakes just made much thicker. They were like pure stodge. They were disgusting. I really really wanted to like them, but I couldn't finish them. We'd driven from Hereford for these things and I couldn't eat them. Then to rub salt into the wound, the table next door had the scones, which looked incredible! I really don't want to hurt feelings, but if you're going to advertise things like this on Groupon they've got to at least live up to the hype. On the other hand, the table next door seemed to really enjoy the scones! I didn't feel like I could bring this up with the staff. I just don't want anyone else going out of their way and being disappointed like we were. Go...
Read moreI went into this deli today and was impressed is has some lovely items on offer me and my father when in for a bacon sandwich and a coffee the bacon sandwich was lovely I asked for eggs with it and they give you 3 eggs!!! It saddens me to say tho the coffee was much below par as a barista it’s a shame to see a good coffee machine going to so much waste I also bought some tzatziki dip which was lovely but I thought the portion size was a little mean it’s in a big pot but there’s only about a centimetre of dip in there very misleading and four £4 something was not worth it the last on shift was very nice when I asked her about a product but I was told there would be a 15min weight as I had an important call coming up and the weight was about half an hour tho I was informed they where understaffed so I understand that on the hole I feel they could make that place amazing with a...
Read moreWent on Sunday to get some cheese, horrified to see significant green and white mould on one of the cheeses which I pointed out to the relevant person. Went back in on Monday, cheese is still there, they think they've cut all the mould off but there are still clearly blue green furry mould spots on it (wasn't able to get a clear photo). Shocking attitude for a venue that pitches itself as a premium deli with premium price tags to match. They may have removed it, but the French butter is (or was) British. It's a shame because the staff are lovely and there is a lot of...
