Bistronomy 176 - Edinburgh's Hidden Gem!
During a recent day trip to Edinburgh, we had the chance to eat at Bistronomy 176 and we absolutely loved it! We ordered Adana kebab and lamb chops, but even the appetizers that arrived at our table before the meal were a feast in themselves: olives with sauce, delicious hummus, hot sauce just right and more... Each appetizer was fresh and meticulously prepared.
The main courses were a work of art! The flavor of the Adana kebab, the balance of spices and the juiciness of the meat were perfect. The lamb chops were simply melting in your mouth. Each dish was prepared with a professionalism that made you feel like they were prepared by master hands.
The warm and friendly atmosphere of the restaurant took the experience to a whole new level. The staff are so sincere and hospitable that you feel right at home. Mahmut Abi's smiling face, attention and conversation especially added a different color to our evening. I highly recommend this charming, modest and delicious restaurant to anyone who visits Edinburgh, whether they are visiting for a day or staying for a longer period. Bistronomy 176 offers not just a meal, but an unforgettable experience. Thanks again to the whole team and I wish you...

We were entertaining a colleague who was in Scotland for the first time and this was not a good experience.
Our relaxing conversation was broken when we were told we had to hurry up and order as we had to leave in 1 hour.
The food came quickly and was below par, especially for the price. I got a Chicken Shish which was essentially half a chicken kebab (I've had better at 3am from a takeaway) and cost over £20. The chicken was dry and the salad was tiny. The plain rice didn't do much to enhance the lacking flavour.
Our plates were quickly cleared and we were informed we didn't have time for coffee or dessert.
We were then informed we could have an extra 35 minutes but there was no coffee.
I ordered a cup of tea and the Crème Brûlée, this was fine.
There was no time to relax and chat after our meal, we had to pay the bill leave immediately.
I felt pretty ropey that evening and the next morning, and can't imagine what our Norwegian colleague made of cuisine and hospitality in the capital.
The restaurant itself was small, but nice enough although sitting at a table right next to the toilet door...

The care and quality ingredients used in each dish sets the Bistronomy 176 apart from the rest on the street. From the pickiest of our party to the most adventurous we were able to find dishes that not only delivered a flavor profile that was delicious but were vibrant in color and the temperature was perfect. Our beautiful backdrop of the rustic road made a perfect Edinburgh evening. The haggis here is unlike any we have tried. It was so flavorful and some of the best quality haggis. The sea bass was perfectly seasoned and cooked to the right temperature. They really stepped up for the gluten free and had plenty of options.
