-1/5 Absolute Rubbish. Please trust me, do not waste your money.
Do not eat here. Eat here if you like sub-par, bland Desi/Indian food that is microwaved and served dry.
I do not recommend this restaurant.
It was the MOST AWFUL meal in Edinburgh. I believe this restaurants pays or bribes reviewers. I'm staying in this neighborhood and exploring the community. I love to support local restaurant but I regret every penny and bite, I literally feel sick after this meal.
Based on the high google ratings, I was looking forward to this meal. From start to finish, I should have known better. It was an absolutely empty restaurant that had one takeaway menu outside with prices that they did not honor at entry.
I order highway chicken tikka and a lamb curry. The best thing I had was the onion chutney. I do not recommend anything I ate. The tikka was so dry and clearly old, I heard the microwave go off and the server told me they only used the microwave to warm the plate. It was dry and when I complained, the waiter said this was freshly cooked. I was surprised when the did not offer a new chicken but rather made me feel stupid. Clearly, they microwaved the chicken, I've had enough microwaved food when I was younger.
I love Indian food, my first meal in Edinburgh was at Dishoom which is worth every penny for the quality and delicious flavour.
Is it not standard in the UK to return the food? This place probably thought I did not know any better to serve this disgusting food.
I typically try not to return food as I hate to waste and want to support local so I thought I would try the lamb curry. The taste was as good as a tesco own lable microwave special. Again, the bloke told me they only use the microwave to warm the dishes.
I felt insulted by how terrible this food is.
I hope this restaurant closes or has a change of...

Its prime location places it conveniently near the Kings Theatre, Cameo Cinema, and the lush expanse of the Meadows. This makes it an excellent choice for a delightful dining experience, whether you’re planning to savour a meal before or after enjoying a performance at Usher Hall or the Lyceum Theatre, or perhaps before cheering on your favourite rugby team at Murrayfield Stadium. It's intimate and offers a culinary adventure across India. Do try their mocktails, especially the Chaskaa Special with strawberry and chilli and their Mojito - both are delicious.
We tried of course, the poppadoms accompanied by a vibrant tray of condiments and our starters included Vegetable Samosas (£5.25), Monkfish Tikka (£8.95), and Chicken Tikka Shashlik (£6.75).
For our main we went for The Prawn Kali Mirch (£14.50) featured succulent prawns cooked in a rich and creamy black pepper sauce. The Lazeez Lamb Curry (£12.95) was a testament to the art of slow cooking. The Paneer Karahi (£10.95) curry was a vegetarian delight. All complemented by Pilau Rice (£3.25) that was fluffy and fragrant, and a Tandoori Roti (£2.50) that was rm, and slightly crispy.
We finished with the Gulab Jamun (£4.95). The warmth of the Gulab Jamun, combined with the rich, syrupy sweetness, made it a comforting and indulgent end to our meal.
Indian food lovers should visit Chaskaa Indian Restaurant Edinburgh because it is a celebration of India's culinary heritage, offering authentic flavours and dishes that pay homage to the diverse regions of the country. The food, combined with the inviting atmosphere and attentive service, makes Chaskaa Indian Restaurant Edinburgh a great place to indulge in...
Read morestaff rude! We were a table of 14 people and they were incapable of exchanging a Diet Coke for another juice. I’d understand with 2 people but not 14 but it was not a big deal so far. this guy around his 40s 50s with glasses was rude after this request. when I order the starters to be together with the mains, he was extremely rude to me telling me that he would only speak with people ordering the starters, he cut me off saying "did I said main orders? no". he did not even explain that he will come to me after taking the main orders and I could ask for the starters then if I wanted everything together. then he ignores me, brings the starter first and not all together how I said it and told me that I did not ask him to bring everything together as I mentioned to him like 5 times before. instead of taking the starter away and bringing it with the food he kept insisting I brought the dish until he saw I was getting a bit annoyed. I left a review just specifying the drinks issue because I could not be bothered giving the whole story at that point (I was going to change it with details later) and I was a little bit annoyed. this guy with glasses has the balls to come to me demanding me to remove the review in front of the whole table. you do not demand me to take off a review with the confrontational attitude he came with in front of the whole table, you can kindly ask me for clarification and I could consider removing it. I told him to stop and he kept going pissing me off. I was so pissed off that nearly stand and punched him so I decided to leave the restaurants and leave my friends behind to avoid making a scene in the restaurant. I will never come back here and I will tell all people in my company not...
