I'd say this is the best Chinese restaurant in Edinburgh, perhaps the best I've ever been to. I've went on two occasions so far (I will be returning for more).
They offer traditional cuisine perfectly cooked. There are options for adventurous individuals, but fear not if you want classic dishes you will find them cooked here better than you have had elsewhere.
The one word of caution I have is that this place is busy. Book a table, but also expect your meal to take a long while to complete. They are incredibly popular for takeaways and the kitchen is small. On both my trips the meal took about 90 minutes before the final dish came out. Could be trouble if you're not sharing dishes, definitely trouble for people who are in a hurry.
Come with the delay in mind, bring some good friends and enjoy a nice chat as you wait for the best Chinese meal you'll have....

Food - great value, yummy and filling. pork and chinese leaf dumplings were generous in size, number and flavour - handmade wrappers and fillings with delicious seasoning, quality meat and lovingly made for perfect bite, complemented perfectly by dipping sauce skewers were a bargain - brought back happy memories of the Xinjiang style lamb grilled in cumin and chilli that they serve down in Camberwell; so what if the minimum number isn't stated on the menu - you'll want at least 3 anyway! My goodness, the beef tendon was perfection.
Overall - seems unusually authentic, from the perspective of a typical guĒ lĒo, and really stands out among what's available in Edinburgh. 100% will go again! (fingers crossed the seafood options will be...
Read moreThis is probably my favourite Asian restaurant in Edinburgh right now. Needless to say, their dumplings are amazing. Filling has so much flavour, and very moist. Always plenty of filling. All of the flavours are delicious. The dumplings look fantastic with the different colours. It's not all about the dumplings though, their Kung Pao Chicken is probably my favourite dish in Edinburgh. Every time I visit, I have to buy it it's so good. Its got a beautiful szechuan pepper humm. I have seen other guests eat dishes which look fantastic, so there is lots more to try. The Kung Pao is about £12, but it is a huge portion intended to share.
The restaurant itself, is clean and modern. The people that work in there are very polite and charming. At peak times it gets very busy, so you should book.
