As someone who has worked in the hospitality industry for over 10 years, I’ve had countless positive experiences at Jollibee locations across the UK. Being a Filipina, I’ve always felt a connection to this brand. So, during my holiday in Edinburgh Scotland, I was incredibly excited to visit the Jollibee there on Saturday 31st August 2024. Unfortunately, the service I received was the worst I have ever experienced.
After a long journey, my family and I decided to treat ourselves to a Jollibee meal. We placed a substantial order worth £90. After 10 minutes, our number was called, and we were informed that our order was ready. However, we were then told that they could only provide chicken breast unless we wanted to wait an additional 6 minutes for the rest of our order. I politely said we were happy to wait. That’s when Blue, one of the staff members, turned to her colleagues and made a rude, sarcastic comment, all while I was standing right there. They laughed, and it was clear from their glances that they were talking about me and my mom. This behavior was shockingly unprofessional and disrespectful.
We ended up waiting another 10-15 minutes, which was understandable since we chose to wait. When our order was finally ready, the manager took over and was very kind and professional, a stark contrast to Blue. While waiting for our five drinks, Blue handed me a tray without properly securing the paper underneath to prevent the drinks from sliding. Predictably, all the drinks toppled to the floor. The manager, once again, came to the rescue and helped clean up the mess, offering to replace the drinks.
After this incident, I tried to get Blue’s attention to ask for plates since none were provided with our meal. She initially ignored my calls of “excuse me.” When I finally got her attention and politely asked for plates, she looked at me with raised eyebrows and asked, “How many do you need?” in a tone that felt more like an interrogation than a simple question.
As a seasoned professional in hospitality, I understand the pressures of a busy environment. However, I have never, in my years of experience, treated a guest with such disrespect. This visit left a bad taste in my mouth, and it’s disheartening to say that a brand I once admired has let me down so badly. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, so no other customer has to endure what we did. My family and I will think twice before visiting...
Read moreJollibee Edinburgh brings the signature taste of Filipino fast food to Scotland, offering a unique and exciting alternative to the standard fast food chains. The restaurant has a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, with a lively interior that reflects Jollibee’s colorful branding.
One of the standout dishes is the Chickenjoy – perfectly crispy on the outside, yet tender and juicy on the inside. It’s paired with a side of gravy that adds a rich, savory flavor. Another must-try is the Jolly Spaghetti, a sweet and tangy twist on the classic pasta, topped with hotdog slices and a generous amount of cheese. For burger lovers, the Jolly Hotdog and the Yumburger are good options, with a combination of savory and sweet flavors that are distinctly Filipino.
While the food is tasty and portions are generous, the wait times can sometimes be long during peak hours. However, the friendly and enthusiastic staff make the experience enjoyable, and the service is attentive despite the crowd.
For those seeking dessert, the Halo-Halo is a refreshing, layered treat with a variety of ingredients like shaved ice, sweet beans, jellies, and leche flan, offering a delightful end to the meal.
Overall, Jollibee Edinburgh is a great spot for anyone looking to explore Filipino cuisine in a fast-food setting. Its unique offerings make it stand out, and it’s definitely worth a visit for those craving...
Read moreI read the wonderful reviews from Google and decided to grab a quick bite with my partner as I have never tried the food there before. The place was packed which I felt was good sign. And our order was processed pretty quickly. We ordered the new Kstyle loaded fries and the asian rice bowl and the hotdog. The first disappointing aspect of the food was it's portion size. For GBP 7.49, there was only about 15-20 french fries along with a couple of pieces of chicken and a spicy mayo; that was surprising to me. As someone who's been working in the hospitality industry for over 2+ years, my personal thought was that the portion of the fries was very less (as it claimed to be a meal!). Secondly, the loaded fries was served cold. The fries weren't fresh and the chicken wasn't warm at all, which was very disappointing. Upon bringing that to the attention of the staff member, our fries were replaced, but chicken was still cold or rather 'not warm'. We didn't want to escalate it further so we decided not to go back as the floor was quite busy. While I understand that issues as such sometimes do happen in the workplace (as I have plenty experience working in the same setup for atleast a year and half), I felt that the prices charged were not upto the standard the food...
