I was really excited to celebrate my birthday at Manahhata after seeing all the hype about it on Instagram. I booked a table well in advance, especially since it was for a special occasion. Unfortunately, the experience didn’t live up to expectations. When we arrived, the guy at the front desk told us our table wasn’t ready and that we’d have to wait. We ended up waiting around 20 minutes, only to have to chase down one of the bartenders ourselves to check if our table was ready. When we were finally seated, they placed us at the first table right next to the door. I was shocked because I had noted in my booking that it was a special occasion and even received email confirmation acknowledging it. I asked the bartender if there were any other options, explaining I was hoping for a table further inside, but she insisted there was "zero chance" of moving. However, all the waiting time I noticed another table available further in and pointed it out— and only then she realized it had a card with my name on it. That was the table we were supposed to have the whole time! This left me questioning the organization and professionalism of the staff, especially given the 20-minute delay and poor communication. However wanna say a huge thanks for Anna who was serving our table and was very professional, welcoming and saved the overall evening experience ! Conclusion: Social media made its job and influence to come but there is so many better places around Edinburgh and I wouldn’t be back again.

Nice NYC style cocktail restaurant. Really good deals for lunch and dinner time.

Had a booking for 8pm and order drinks through the app and they arrived 20 minutes later whilst our friend waited half n hour at the bar. Understanding if it was busy. We let that slide and saw our drinks almost arriving and just before the waitress could deliver it, I’m assuming the Duty Manager had stormed up to her and clearly wasn’t having a pleasant conversation. Her face wasn’t pleasant as she stormed back and forth around the floor creating the absolute worst atmosphere for us. We drank our drinks within 5 minutes and left due to this woman in the cropped pink blazer. Snobby unprofessional and really needs to understand being in a management position you help create the atmosphere of the bar and people do notice these small details and it ruins experiences. Such a shame

Visited at the weekend for a hen party. Table had been pre booked and we had preordered our meals. Arrived 5minutes early for our booking and were told it was not ready (fine), we then had to wait for 25minutes. Then saw that they had our booking time wrong and was scheduled 15mins later than in the confirmation we had. We then were not spoken to once when we sat down, no one came to take a drink order so we had to go to the bar for every drink for our whole meal. We weren’t even served water (waited for 20minutes for them to come over) and when we finally got someone’s attention they brought 1 bottle (there were 14 of us) so we had to suggest they bring more for the table. We waited an hour and a half for our food (no explanation as to why this was late orders were given weeks beforehand) when food came out it was either lukewarm or freezing cold. No one even came to check on us to even draw attention to this to have it reheated. Steak was overcooked and pepper sauce was cold.

When it was time to pay they overcharged us (Ā£20 deposit already paid each main was under this except the steak) no drinks (paid at bar) and no other additions, took speaking to 4 people to receive any sort of explanation but they didn’t have one.

Moved downstairs to the club area where we had a table booked, was told they do not take bookings for these tables, then when shown the booking we had, they said we were late for our booking (this was after telling us they don’t do bookings) after explaining that was because of the service upstairs they said that it didn’t matter. There was a booth that was empty with just a jacket on one chair, when we asked if that was our booking and if we could have it they told us to go ask ourselves. We managed to get a table when another party left and after 15-20mins a staff member came to tell us to move because they wanted that table for a booking, there were 2 tables next to us that no one was sitting at but had a lot of empty glasses so instead of cleaning that they asked us to move instead. When we refused they then just decided to clean the spare tables for the other booking.

Absolutely appalling treatment from start to finish, would not recommend for big groups as it seems the staff have no idea what is going on when it comes to bookings/deposits and can’t even muster a simple ā€˜sorry for the inconvenience’. Food would have been nice if it had have come out fresh and warm, club had an ok atmosphere but was really dampened by the staff acting like we caused an issue for...

We booked the Boozy Nights for Ā£45ish per person. The food was really nice although order slightly wrong but no big deal. Decent portion size for the burger & chips. It would have been nice to have been offered sauces/salt & pepper though. The decor was lovely and a really nice space, good atmosphere. Very clean too including the toilets, and a nice photo booth for Ā£5. The service was ok although we had about 5 different servers meaning items were forgotten so I think that could be worked better with each server taking an area each. We were booked until 6.30pm and at 5.20pm we were ā€œWarned of the next booking in 10 minutesā€. Had to show the booking email to show we still had an hour (and 3 drinks) left. However, very disappointed with how they dealt with allergies. I was drinking non alcoholic drinks and was allergic to ingredients to both mocktails on offer. I asked if they could alter them, was told no as they are batch prepared in the back. Asked if I could choose another mocktail off the main menu at the exact same price and was told no. I can have 6 tiny wee 0% proseccos or can have soft drinks. When my main meal was Ā£16, paying almost Ā£30 for 5 cans of coke or 6 tiny non alcohol Proseccos is absolutely ridiculous when you can have 6 cirocs for the same price!! I had tiny proseccos while my friends had decent sized cocktails so I was left with no drink for ages. Absolutely no help when it came to allergies which is disappointing in this day and age. As we booked it months ago, I was planning on having the alcoholic versions or I could have raised those allergies at time of booking. I’d also have liked to see the ingredients of drinks on the menu, they didn’t even state which alcohol was in each cocktail. Having allergies is annoying as is without having to ask and rely on servers to tell us the correct information. Good value if going for the alcoholic versions but feel robbed with the non-alcoholic options. Overall very disappointed but I reckon i’d have had a much better experience if I was drinking alcohol.

Edit - As much as your response looks good to other people, there’s no use to say management will be in touch when they still never have been, 7...

I was here last night with some friends for food and drinks. First impressions were good and id heard positive things so was excited to try here, the place looked great and the guy at the bar (didn't get his name) was brilliant. Unfortunately it goes downhill from here, our table ended up being late so we bought a drink and waited before being taken down. Our server was called Anna and she was nice. Food was alright, pub grub nothing fancy but tasty enough. We ordered some more drinks which took forever to come and we had to chase twice for these. Table service finished at 10 and we were told we could continue to order via the QR code on our table. Then a short time after a man came and told us as we had finished our reserved time and needed to move, he was so blunt and rude in my opinion. I understand needing to move on if the table is booked but firstly there is a way to say it and ask people and secondly it would have been nice to be told that when we sat down, especially the fact our table was quite late. We moved upstairs and found another table people had just left, the same man came over and ushered us on again, "this is reserved", we said the people who had sat here had moved on and that's why we sat down but again more extreme rudeness made us quickly finish our drinks and leave. His name is Henry, management seriously need to send him on a customer service training, I wouldn't dream of speaking to people the way he spoke to us.

I'd had high hopes for here but Henry has done a good job of making sure ill not go back, Including the work christmas boozy brunch I'd proposed to my colleagues. It's not a cheap place and we spent quite a sum between us but that's the last time...
