Sofi's - Ice Cream, Desserts & Coffee — Restaurant in City of Edinburgh

Visited yesterday and I accidentally took the wrong order for my child. I'll be honest it had been a challenging hour as they had been upset and I didn't want to cause more fuss or stress for them so I didn't challenge what was handed to me as it had been a stressful hour. We sat for a few moments and the my child decided they felt better and asked to leave. We left the store and a member of staff called out to tell me I was leaving without my order. They were angry and to be honest, despite me explaining I had made an honest mistake (the item we received actually cost less than what I had paid) they treated me like I had intentionally stolen from another customer. It was demeaning, humiliating and added more stress to an already stressful situation for me and my child. I own the mistake but there was no ill intent, if anything we didn't want to cause fuss because we thought the staff had just made a simple mistake on a busy day. We were shouted back to the shop on a public street and spoken to so rudely. Would encourage staff to listen to customers and treat people with more empathy and respect. You don't know what kind of day other people are having or what they are...

Very bad experience. The waiters are extremely rude. There are two female waitresses. When I arrived, both of them were helping guests check out, so I was waiting in line. After one guest left, although the waitress saw that I wanted to settle the bill, she ignored me and just turned around and walked away. So I wait for the other one then, but the other waiter is also very fierce and has an indifferent look on her face with no intention of helping me check out. I said I wanted to pay, but she just stared at me without doing or saying anything. Then I said I would pay by cash. Suddenly I remembered that I had run out of cash, so I said I’d like pay by card. Then she turned around and laughing at me with another waitress. I don't know if they act like this to everyone or because I'm Asian. I hope the boss can judge whether your employees are racists. Anyway, I will tell my friends to be careful of this...

I was at a loose end after my original plans weren't going to work. I needed somewhere to get a snack and fill in some time whilst staying in the Grassmarket area - I'm meeting my parents from Australia! So I wandered in (cause I love ice cream) and I was greeted by the friendliest young ladies.. they answered my questions about the blue cookie monster ice cream - I love the colour blue but won't eat it if it is bubblegum flavour. I was so excited that it was cookies and cream, yes the name should have given it away lol but I'm a bit thick sometimes. There were so many good flavours to choose from - I got Cookie Monster and Kinder Bueno.
