I was excited to try the food at Esquires as I had heard good things about the options for people with gluten intolerances. The breakfast menu said that there were gluten free options on request. I asked the member of staff if the vegan and the traditional breakfast could be made gluten-free, after checking he said that he that they could be. I ordered both as both of us had intolerances. When I asked about the gluten free bread I was told we would have the option of white, brown or panini. I was so excited, I have no had a panini in a coffee shop or restaurant ever!!
We paid and sat down to wait for our food. He came over a few minutes later to say that there were no mushrooms and what would we like instead. I said I would have anything gluten free and I wasnāt too fussed. Some more time passed and another waitress came to our table to advise that the sausages on both breakfasts were not gluten free. It also turned out they didnāt realise that the full English had been ordered gluten free, which could have ended badly.
After a discussion with her, we found out that the paninis werenāt either. Our breakfast options were so limited (to something on toast) that we decided to get a refund.
Although it was the personās second day that served us, I really feel that they should have been better trained to understand intolerances. Should the chef not have checked we could have been quite Ill had we been served the panini and sausage.
The coffee and juice were really good but I will not be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLoooove the atmosphere in here! So much better than Starbucks and Costa in coventry atmosphere-wise. Such a nice place to sit down and do drawings or work š Only downside is their food⦠I ordered the vegan breakfast twice and very disappointed on both occasions, I definitely do NOT recommend the food here at all!!! Will not be ordering food here again 𤮠But if you come here for coffee/other drinks then itās a very good place! Wish they stayed open for longer! šš¼ Also would love it if they started doing loyalty cards for drinks

All of the vegan breakfast items were very dry/bland/boring. The mushroom was so dry and rough to bite through and had fur on it. It tasted like and had the texture of cardboard and everything was very underwhelming about the food. It felt like I was eating a plate of cheap frozen items that were not seasoned and extremely dry. I would prefer all of the items, especially the spinach leaves, to have some oil/seasoning added to them rather than being dry/bland/unpalatable. Maybe you could cook the spinach/tomato slightly and/or add olive oil and salt/pepper? And donāt overheat the items so that they lose their moisture and become so dry. Having said that, I am very impressed with the range of organic drinks you sell and would love to see more organic food items added to your menu! The smoothies are delicious and I would love an organic...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently ordered Esquireās afternoon tea for two, for home delivery in Rugby. The lunch box arrived, personally delivered by the owner, Steven Prime, who is charming, and initial impressions were absolutely superb. The wonderful variety of food, was presented in a wonderful see through box with a pull out tray inside for easy access and usability for a table outdoors. The food was all extremely fresh, with an array of sandwiches, cakes and fruit, but the star of the show had to be the gigantic sultana scones with individual pots of jam and Cornish clotted cream, no less! These really were the best scones we have ever tasted! In fact, we found that the quantity of food was sufficient to comfortably feed a family of 4 ! We were all very impressed with the overall presentation and food selection, and will not hesitate to order again, and recommend to friends and family, including trying out the other items from Esquiresā home delivery menu, both for special events and for a great family treat! Thank you to Steven Prime from Esquires Coffee Coventry, from the Thomas Family ~ weāll be placing our next...
