Being a student at Coventry University, I can relate to the challenges of trying to balance a tight budget while still craving wholesome and nourishing meals. Fortunately, I had the pleasure of discovering a food truck called THAI GRASS, which offers delectable Thai and Korean cuisine. This friendly food truck is conveniently located on Hertford Street, just a short five-minute walk from the Hub.
Even though it's located in a busy area, the cooks at THAI GRASS take pride in ensuring that every meal is served promptly and with a beautiful presentation. The owner, who also happens to be the main chef, is renowned for his passion and enthusiasm for his dishes.
Out of all the dishes on their menu, my personal favorite is the SPICY KOREAN FRIED CHICKEN WITH RICE. This scrumptious meal comprises crispy Korean chicken that is perfectly paired with sticky rice, a sweet and spicy sauce, and garnished with spring onions and coriander leaves. If you're someone who loves extra spice, you can request additional chili to be added to your dish.
The owner of THAI GRASS takes great pride in using only fresh, homemade ingredients in all their dishes, including their popular Thai Tapas Prawn Dumplings. Moreover, they offer a variety of vegetarian and vegan options to cater to all dietary restrictions.
While the seating area may not be the most ideal for those who prefer traditional dining experiences, the food is readily available for takeaway. However, if you do choose to dine in, you can enjoy the pleasant ambiance of the street and interact with passers-by.
Overall, THAI GRASS is an excellent choice for students and anyone else on a budget who is looking for delicious and nutritious meals. Their prices are incredibly reasonable, with most dishes costing under 7 Pounds. So, if you're in the area and are craving some lip-smacking Thai and Korean dishes, make sure to check...
Read moreIncredible service! Was walking by as it’s my first time in Coventry, and I stopped to look at the food stand. The manager Robby stopped cooking and asked if I had any questions or was interested in any particular dish. I said I was just looking in the family are really good conversation about good restaurants in the area and I ended up ordering the green chicken curry because I was particularly hungry at the moment. Everyone that walked by he seem to know personally and start to say hi and check in with them as I was just sitting out front and hanging out with them. The food was ready in less than five minutes and he made sure to put some nice garnishes on top and it’s a very nice experience and he could tell he really wanted to take care of his customers with the food as well as great service and conversation. I ended up taking the food to go but I will definitely be back because if the rest of the items are like what I ate the first time I am very excited to explore the rest of the menu. Even recommended it to my roommate and he went later and his card wasn’t working but he comped him since he knew “we would be back” haha. Love the energy and confidence of Robby and everything was A+. 5/5 and cannot...
Read morea waste of money and time. the wait was long which was fine, but after taking so long for my food to come out i was met with an unsatisfactory meal. i even had to wonder what they were doing in that kitchen for all that time because i was left with raw. pink. uncooked meat. they didn't cook the chicken so it meant i couldn't eat the meal, i had to instead pick at the rice which i was unable to finish bc i felt so sick and put off. this is a matter of health as well so i'm unimpressed with the lack of seriousness and care taken towards this. in addition, this was not an issue of one or two, no, it was a most of the chicken pieces. i am truly confused as to what the reason was for serving such a meal, like c'mon man you can't see how underdone it is, and then to expect me to eat...
