We go here every now and then because my partner’s 14-year old boy can join us. We always find the facilities (sauna, jacuzzi, steam room and pool) to be very run down. It’s all a bit tatty really, but it’s good enough to spend an hour or so there. We usually do the “dip and dine” and the food has generally been OK… until New Year’s Day when we were served cold meals! When we explained this to the service staff we were told that it would be a 30-minute wait if we wanted hot meals. At which point I truly wondered if that would be the case… I mean how would it be any different, considering our food had literally just come out of the kitchen!!? My five bean chilli was also supposed to come with sour cream and mozzarella - neither of which were on my plate. And when I asked the waitress about it, she stared at me blankly… Needless to say, we asked for a refund and walked out hungry and disappointed 😞

Seems to be getting worse and worse. Myself and my husband used to be regulars for about 5 years. Last few months we stopped eating here because dip'n'dine is a rip-off these days. All the nice things from the dip'n'dine menu have been removed and I actually don't like any of the things left on that menu, same goes for my husband. Last time I ordered pasta with mushroom sauce and it was vile. The mushrooms were whole, all the dish was swimming in oil and was tasteless. I had to add loads of salt to make it taste at least bearable! That dish costs 12 pounds but I wouldn't even pay 5 ever again. The place is always dirty, sticky tables, carpet with food mashed in it, tables with stuck food. It is just gross. We just now go to town after pool to eat somewhere where it is actually cheaper and way better.

Fantastic place to unwind and relax 😊. Dip and dine is great not to expensive £12.50 each person. Nice atmosphere and feel inside, with bamboo style affect. Worth going to experience it with friends, family or group or even on own. If weather is extremely good why not enjoy the outdoor pool too.

We've been visiting the TLH site for many years but haven't eaten at this bisto before our most recent stay.

We didn't get exactly what we ordered. I asked for halloumi fries but received a halloumi salad. Not ideal but not too much bother. We ordered Kids spaghetti which was as expected although the drink included in the children's meal didn't materialise. No big deal. Lastly we ordered 2 pizza. 1 cheese and tomatoe and 1 pepperoni. The pepperoni wasn't pepperoni but was actually salami. Not ideal but no big thing I ate it as was hungry and cured meat is cured meat. The cheese pizza was awful. The cheese was obviously cheddar. The taste and the fat content do not befit the authentic Italian product being promised. We couldn't eat anymore that 2 slices between 3 of us so we sent it back. I have never ever sent food back before. Never. I didn't mention the halloumi error as it was a simple mistake. I asked for a refund on the cheese pizza and also mentioned that the pepperoni was actually salami. They apparently do not have salami in their kitchen. The pink colour and taste tells another story. I've been married into an Italian family for over a decade so I'd stake my life on being able to identify pepperoni from salami. But as before no big deal it's a simple mistake to the untrained eye. I live in a large cosmopolitan city and make allowance for small towns not getting European foods completely authentic. A refund for the cheese pizza was given. The price of a cheese pizza was £10 and pepperoni £13 OR 2 for £20. I was refunded only £7 as the offer saving vanished. This wasn't a big deal. BUT, the kicker was in the look that the manager gave the server when she rang this transaction through the till. "So we'll only refund this much" she whispered and smirked. I'll still visit the hotel but I'll give this place a swerve. Domino's is only a short walk away and although not authentic Italian it is much closer to the mark.

For the record I wasn't condescending when returning the food I was friendly and tried to be constructive. It was clearly not welcome. I was careful not to say any of what I said in earshot of other patrons as it wasn't for them to hear.

If you've read to the end of this review I hope you have...

Im an o.a.p and my daughter asked if i could take her and grandchildren to the aztec for a swim in the half term break. when we arrived i saw the parking notice but my daughter said you didnt have to pay for going for a swim as she had been there before with her husband, but how wrong she was as i recieved a £100 pound penalty notice. i had to bite my tongue and pay a fine but do feel a bit bitter about it because i know you need to fine people as a deterrent but what they charge seems to be beyond a deterrent and a nice money making business or should i say not so nice money making business, which kind of reminds me of car wheel clamping. Also i feel that if your paying to use a hotels facility, i dont think you should be paying parking charges as well in there own car park, although i would have and wasnt deliberately trying to evade them. Have been to some places like brewers fayre in Bridgwater that take the parking charge off your food bill which is reasonable. but this feels like going to McDonalds and being asked to pay for parking while you eat your burger in one of there...
