We have been visiting this cafe on an annual basis for years. Always found it relaxing and welcoming but unfortunately my mothers last visit was a disappointing experience. I can only assume the proprietor was having a bad day because it was very quiet. Mum had just arrived from the journey to Whitby. She went to Beckett’s looking to relax with lunch and coffee somewhere familiar following the journey. The proprietor was annoyed that mum and grandma asked to use the bathroom before they ordered and hovered over them until they ordered. Read moreThere is nothing like a place where you can feel genuine love and pride put into every detail and item on the menu. Beckett's exemplifies great customer service, and locally-sourced, quality food that sets it at the top of the mountain in a town full of competition. The milkshakes here are phenomenal, as are the paninis and cakes. The lime and coconut cake is more than recommended - it is essential eating. The most dog-friendly cafe you can hope for; they have free dog treats and drinking water for your furred friends. Walls full of books you can buy or borrow, and they even have reading glasses if you're caught short. Do not miss out on...
