INCREDIBLY RUDE STAFF!!!
I visited York today with a friend to pay respects at a funeral. We arrived a bit early and had a bit of time to kill prior to the service. We decided to have a coffee at the Bison coffee house. It was 9am, the time advertised that the coffee house opened. The front door was locked but I had seen someone inside so I knocked on the door. It was also raining so we were quite eager to get out the rain. I knocked again as I thought they may not have heard me, and then someone came to the door. As he opened the door I smiled and asked 'are you open?' to which he replied "NO! THAT'S WHY THE *KING DOOR'S LOCKED!' and then slammed the door in my face. I don't think i'll ever return...

Has a nice community feel which separates it from the more corporate atmospheres you find in city centre. No laptops is an understandable decision considering how small the building is, and how students such as myself typically take up space with very little spending. They’re also very dog-friendly from what I’ve read.
The house blend has a sweet, nutty tone that leaves you wanting more in the best way possible. Meanwhile, the balance and texture of the milk has been spot-on each time I've visited. On top of all that, the coffee is far more affordable than most places (£2.60 for a latte.. in...

Food was really nice, myself and my husband ordered cheese and ham toasties with chutney, lovely thick slices of proper ham and thick slices of cheese. Our daughter ordered halloumi, avocado and hot honey bagel which she said was lovely. On the way out we spotted the cake counter and couldn't pass it by without taking a piece home.
