We didn't eat, but went for the football on Sunday 11th February. Beer was very good and staff were helpful. However, I am disabled and on leaving the lift broke down and I was stuck inside the lift for around 45 minutes until it was eventually decided to call the fire brigade. Though the staff, and some of the customers were very nice, the suggestion of trying to get some customers to lift me out was scary and dangerous. I feel that the fire brigade could have been called much sooner as I'd suggested this around half an hour before it was actually done. I have previously had a problem with the lift there and unfortunately although I like the pub, I'm unable to return for worry that it could happen again. Just one more point, the lock on the disabled toilet could do with being looked at. It's all very unfortunate, as I do like the pub, but I'm afraid I won't be able to return.

I have just seen your reply and need to respond again. In my previous review I was completely honest with what happened, including the length of time that I was stuck in the lift. I was not upset or angry, but just said that it was unfortunate as it meant that I was unable to use the pub again, but was complimentary about the pub and the staff. However your reply has now made me angry as you are being dishonest about the time that I was stuck there, and also passing the buck and blaming me for trying to open the door too early. I waited until the lift had completely stopped before attempting to open the door, it was not my fault that it didn't go all the way to the bottom, and when I asked for help one of the bar people pressed the button and it went up an inch or two before completely stopping. Please get your facts right before blaming me for incidents that I had no control...

We (7 people) went there yesterday to celebrate our daughter's birthday after friends' recommendations about the pub. We found a lovely table outside in the garden, but sticky with a dead mouse nearby. The staff welcomed us with ignorance when we asked if there was a big table available. The answer was: I don't know, have a look around. When my husband went to order the starters, no one informed him what food was not available that evening. So nearly everyone wanted to order fish and chips, but had to change their choice after starters and drinks were ordered. The mains, mainly burgers were ordered, had a lot of burnt buns and we had to ask for two of them to be replaced because they were inedible. The birthday girl's burger from the kids menu was hard and cold and we had to ask for a new one. There was no apology, just eye rolling and like we were bothering the team too much. My husband said twice to the person taking the order to bring everything when it's ready, we were not fussy on waiting everyone to get their food. On the other side, the veggie burger and the sweet potato fries were very nice. Overall, the evening and the meal were disappointing because our guests were from abroad and we wanted to let them experience a nice pub dinner, but they left their...

The Blind Busker in Hove is a well-loved pub known for its lively atmosphere, friendly staff, and excellent drink deals. Located on Church Road, it is a favorite spot for both locals and visitors. The pub offers a wide selection of drinks, with particularly great deals on cocktails and beers, making it an affordable place to enjoy a night out. Patrons often highlight the Harvey’s Bitter and the special offers on cocktails as standout features.

The pub’s ambiance is enhanced by live performances and a separate game area, which makes it a versatile venue for various gatherings. Whether you’re there to watch sports, enjoy live music, or simply have a casual drink with friends, the Blind Busker provides a welcoming environment.

However, some reviews mention that while the food is decent, it may not be the main attraction compared to the drink deals and overall vibe. Improving certain menu items could elevate the dining experience further.

Overall, the Blind Busker’s combination of great drink deals, a friendly atmosphere, and varied entertainment options make it a top choice in Hove for a fun and relaxed...

Updated review: Since me previous review I've been coming here a lot more often and I must say the tables are generally spotless these days and the food has got better and better. The lunch deal is brilliant with a delicious bacon and cheese toastie with a heap of chips coupled with a beer being around £9. Bargain! Staff are still super friendly and it's noticeable that they don't have a rapid turnover of staff which always bodes well. Probably my favourite pub in Hove. Original review: Cheap (ish) and cheerful. Since moving to a flat nearby I've started going to the Blind Busker more often. The drinks are less than some places (a pint of Moretti is £6.20) and the staff are super friendly. Likewise, the food isn't too expensive and was better than expected. You do have some rather strange people wandering in but that's just the nature of the area I suppose. My only real criticism is that the tables are always a bit grubby - perhaps they could collect empty glasses and give the tables a wipe down a bit more frequently. But all in all an easy place to spend some time.

This is a decent pub. Some good beers on tap, genuinely very pleasant staff and they show the footy. The patio out the front catches the sun into the evening. I like it here. However - not exaggerating - this is the worst plate of food I have ever paid for. Those brown blocks you see are - supposedly - beef. They looked, smelled and tasted like Pedigree shmackos. The menu said there would also be chicken, but honestly I'm relieved they forgot to put it on. My friends ordered mixed grills and said the best part was the egg. It's actually borderline impressive - a meal of so many component parts, the chances are that something would have been good. Alas, the chef has excelled in defying the odds. Go for a beer, but good lord do not buy the food.

I last visited this pub in 2014. Food was delicious and customer service was excellent. This time around, bacon and sausage looked as if they had been put in cold oil for 10 seconds and out. They were very oily and were not cooked. It was really a disappointing to see that their standard are going down. The English breakfast did not taste like English breakfast and their was no baked beans. The pub is still super clean and toilets were spotless. The manager need to review how breakfast is prepared.
