What a disappointment. This review is for the attention of the owner, Ali (sounded nice over the phone couple of times), so he might take it up with his chef.
This is a second order that we placed this month and for the second time we got disappointed. The portions were awfully small and definitely not worth the price (Ā£9-10 each). Lamb bhuna meat was as tough as leather boots (not that we usually gnaw on those), the portion was literally half the container but since the flavours weren't there and the meat was tough we wouldn't have cared if it didn't come with a high price tag.
The okra side dish was so bitter that it ended in a bin. Cauliflower bhaji was also inedible, lightly splattered with some non descriptive sauce of hardly any flavour. Portion sizes half the size of the containers.
Tikka masala was so sweet that, again, was not eaten. Went hungry tonight.
The mix grill portion was inadequate for the price we've paid, the meat was lukewarm and did not look really grilled but more like covered in a sauce. This was supposed to come with naan but it was missing on this occasion as well.
In overall the quality and quantity was way below our expectations. The owner offered to add "free" items on our next order (again) but, taking everything into consideration, we won't be ordering from this place ever again. A truly disappointing experience. P. S. The photos were taken right after we opened the containers, so you can judge for yourselves the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place is OUTSTANDING: and im a massive, experienced, Indian cuisine fan. The food tastes phenomenal, and thats actually an understatement. The portion sizes are perfect, the atmosphere is relaxed & happy and the service staff are friendly, upbeat, funny, caring & their massive attention to detail curates a unique experience for all customers. I ordered a Paneer Madras; which actually isnt on the menuā¦but they whipped it up no problem. Another waiter also noticed how much i loved the pickle tray sauces and without me asking gave me a little tub of each to take home. These little gestures mean everything! My boyfriend and I were so full and we still had food to take home (which we had for breakfast; winning). This place deserves some kind of award i swear. Thank you Bournemouth Lahore, you are an absolute gem of a find and you COMPLETED my trip from Zürich to Bournemouth. If ever i come to this end of the UK again, i will absolutely be making the trip to experience your REALNESS again. Hats off to you all. All the love, Amy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreBeing a tourist in bournemouth town, Bournemouth Lahore was the first restaurant we went to. The stuff is very friendly and accommodated even with me and my partner not booking. The food was really good, coming from east London and my partner Pakistani. There food was on the mark with the spice specially as we like spicy food and ask for extra. We got the Lahore special, totally would highly recommend it. The portion size was enough for two and we both still left some. You totally get your money worth. The reason for 4 stars is the naan was a bit thick but still taste really good. The tandoori mix chill was nice, but think there was bit to much chicken and not enough lamb as we had one small shish kebab we both shared between us. We both agree the mix grill was good but I think it could of been a little bit lest tender (but this is due to what I like). As reading some of the name Lahore is in Pakistan not india ;). Totally would recommend this restaurant to everyone thay like curry or rice dishes...
