Cat Nab Fish n Chips — Restaurant in England

Me and my partner visited this place today and queued over an hour which is understandable with the current situation with social distancing as we reached the front of the queue an oldish lady shouted “ stand back” which we obeyed not thinking anything of it as we said our order which was “ 2 large fish & chips and a large curry sauce” the lady was very abrupt I honestly thought she was going to say something sarcastic to us I’m not sure where the attitude came from she then said “ can you stand aside” and started serving other people in the queue I was a little confused with this as we watched everyone before us get served they all waited to received there food so why we got told to move a side I thought was a bit rude it was like we had rubbed her up the wrong way automatically and we are just a young couple in our 20’s we had camping chairs in our arms and would never say boo to a goose! When we then got shouted back my partner realised that he had brought the flask and forgot my cup so we thought we would by chance ask if we could have one of the small plastic cups the women said I can give you a small cup we put hot drinks in and we said yes please she then said 50p? We thought that was a bit steep and said would you take 20p and she very abruptly said no 50p so we paid her and continued to wait the person behind us did the same and they got given a lid I mean we paid for ours where was our cup lid??? when we received our food my partner asked please could we have a bag everyone else got there food in a bag and we clearly had our hands full and she ignored us at first until my partner repeated himself! We finally left for the beach the chips were loverly the fish was a bit strange exactly like the other reviews on here it was small and square!! And the curry sauce was green! I’m not sure why, I would not give this place a chance at all!! Go to the other fish and chip shop on the sea front close to the pier there food looked amazing! Been here lots of times. The fish and chips are always lovely- no complaints about the food. My last visit was very disappointing due to the staff. I can only describe them as ‘mean girls’ I was served by a very miserable girl who after asking what she could get me, quickly looked the other way and started talking to a colleague. Once I was served and was £15 lighter, I walked possible 3 metres to the first table in front of the hatch and immediately turned round and back to the hatch (there was no other customers)and asked if I could swap the Pepsi id just purchased 30’seconds ago for a Pepsi Max, a very simple request which was refused with the most ridiculous excuse I’ve ever heard, allegedly due to hygiene. If I’d have left the premises, I would fully support this. However the girl literally watched me walk away and turn round within second. After I said this to them, another member of staff agreed to change it, which clearly angered the girl that had served me so I then had to sit and eat with a group of girls (the staff) standing at the hatch, arms folded, staring at us. I had a very disappointing experience at this establishment. A group of ten of us went there, and while 8 of us were waiting with our coffees outside, I went inside as I didn’t have a drink and wanted to get a table so I could start eating. I asked if I could order food and sit at a larger table (which was unoccupied). However, the girl at the counter refused and insisted I wait outside with the others. I suggested sitting at a smaller table to eat while waiting for my friends, but this was also denied with the reason being that it would require table cleaning. This response left a bad impression on me. When I decided to leave, the girl suddenly changed her mind, but by then, the experience had already soured.
