Chaiiwala — Restaurant in England

I've always been tempted to visit - but always ended up visiting else where. I finally visited on Saturday and overall it was quite good but could be better.

I popped in for a hot drink and a light street food. Hadn't looked at the menu, but as there was so much choice i ended up going a bit simple. The standard chai (Karak) and a veggie roll wrap.

I grew up having chai and this was pretty good in comparison. Our home chai wa smuch stronger, and it varies between family and restaurants. But overall - It was hot, flavoursome and everything you'd expect. I cannot remember if they added sugar in as standard though? As I normally don't like sugar in hot drinks.

I went for the veggie wrap - It says it comes with a yogurt dip (the usual green dip you'd get in an Indian restaurant). They asked if I wanted to go 'double' for just £1. I thought sure - why not. When it came, i was very surprised with how small it looked. It was almost like a bhajiya in a wrap. Not what I was expecting. Also it looked small - however, it's deceptive and it's very filling. The wrap - Also a surprise, as I was expecting roti. Instead it was paratha. However, this was very good paratha. It wasn't too flaky or buttery. Perfect for wrapping.

Customer service - The waitress was very good. Friendly and efficient. Speed - Only took 5 mins, exactly what you'd expect. Prce - Under £7 for the regular sized chai and the wrap - Fine, in my opinion Menu - Expansive. Great choice - but they should state that it's paratha, not roti or bread wrap. Also it isn't clear that it is this kind of bhajiya filling - i assumed it would be loose veg/salad. Atmosphere - unfortunately, two groups of younger people were really loud and just generally quite loud. Brushing right up against me, playing videos on their phones, taking the chair opposite me without even asking if its not being used etc.

It's a shame as the place itself is fine (if a little cramped), its the other customers that mostly...

Amazing selection of Food, drinks and snacks! As a fellow foodie, I strongly feel Chaiwala is a unique cafe with all day breakfast options which is excellent for all types of individuals. You can grab a warm delicious breakfast anytime of the day. Many of my colleagues, family and friends adore the Chaiwala brand. I appreciate the customer service from all chai Wala stores in Leicester especially Chaiwala Granby street as it’s been one of my main brekky spots since it opened years ago. Well done to management Muzzi and Ali and the hard workers Amara, Adeelah, sana, Amir, sureka and rest of the team. Chai Wala always employ friendly staff who greet you with a beautiful warm smile and serve us customers with respect and professionalism. GRANBY STREETS CHAI WALA’s customer service is hospitable. Chai Wala is indeed a part of the city centre community in leicester. Without them Granby street wouldn’t be the same. Thank you Chaiwala for your credible service to the community. And a sincere thanks to all staff as they are the foundation to the success of this company in the food Industry. To a prosperous future for Chai Wala……The omelette wrap is mouthwatering…..just give it a try for those that haven't yet had...

WHERE DO I START!!! FIRSTLY I ORDERED MY FOOD THE TEA IS NICE THATS NOT THE ISSUE THE MASALA CHIPS WAS OK THE CHEESE SEEMED OLD AND HAD NO TASTE. ALL THE TABLES WAS DIRTY AND HAD FOOD AND EMTPY BOXES ONE OF THE BOXES HAD THIS BROWN SAUCE THAT NEARLY DROPPED BECause it wasn’t cleaned and would’ve stained my new clothes!!! I ASKED THE WORKER NICELY PLEASE CLESN THE TABLE AS I DIDNT FEEL COMFORTABLE EATING ON THE TABLE AS IT WAS DIRTY , HE TOOK AGES THEN FINALLY AND WAS CLEANING EMPTY TABLES WHERE NOBODY WAS Sat instead of mine while I was waiting for him to clean it so I could eat . So I asked and said clean this bit too please . The worker said “CALM DOWN FAM”. Very aggressively . The tone of his voice was like he was about to hit me if I said something. He was very very rude the way he said it and I felt like he was about to hit me by the tone of the voice . Then he cleaned my table and he was spraying it and purposely started spraying it so it goes on my food!!!! He done it on purpose I don’t know why as I asked him nicely and didn’t say anything . Maybe he don’t like his job and he can’t cope as they have many customers and seems like they are understaffed . VERY...
