I let Chaz and Kelly know my arrival time (around 10:30) so I could drop off my case. On arrival, the door was open, so I gently called out âhello,â and both Kelly and Chaz came to greet me. Chaz joked that heâd shake my hand but his were wet, so offered a hug instead. After a short chat, he kindly carried my case to my room and showed me where everything was.||Just a note for future guests: the bathroom (toilet and shower over a bath) is separate from the bedroom, just a few yards away, and the same key opens this door too. This isnât made clear in the booking description, which states âprivate bathroomâ for all rooms. It seems the two single rooms have private bathrooms that are separate, so it would be helpful if this were clarified on the listing.||The deluxe room is up two flights of stairs and I think the standard room is up one flight of stairs||When booking through Booking.com, it mentioned breakfast was available, but there was no mention of this during my stay. It didnât bother me, as Iâm an early riser and prefer to be on the beach for sunrise. There are plenty of great cafĂŠs nearby, but if breakfast at the guesthouse is important to you, itâs worth checking in advance.||The room itself was clean and comfortable, with a bed slightly larger than a standard single. Facilities included a kettle with tea, coffee, sugar and a small biscuit, plus a mini fridge, fan, small table and even a bathrobe, which was a nice touch.||I only saw Chaz a couple of times during my stayâonce when he thought another guest was checking in, and once when I was returning with shopping. Thatâs when I asked about check-out and was told to leave the key either in the room or on the hallway side table. This wasnât mentioned at check-in. On my departure day, I checked out at 8am (after two trips with my case and shopping) and left the key in the room. I didnât see either Chaz or Kelly then, which surprised me slightly as I thought 8am was a reasonable time to expect someone around.||The location is excellentâjust a three-minute walk to the beach, perfect for my early morning sunrise walks, and about eight minutes to the train station. The route is flat, making it easy even with a suitcase and heavy bags of books and souvenirs.||Overall, a comfortable stay in a...
Read moreArrived to be met by Chaz, the owner, always a warm and friendly welcome. We've stayed here a few times, and it feels like staying at a friends rather than a guest house. |Great free parking facilities are right outside, on the grass lawns opposite. Chaz showed us to our ensuite room, a lovely double at the front, with a nice view of the lawns. Tea and coffee making facilities, a heater and fan. Extremely comfortable bed and pillows. Very clean and decorated with cute seaside pictures and wall hangings. Great ensuite shower, with a funky mirror that lit up like a disco (you can have just plain white lighting). Towels, and shower & hand gel provided, which was a lovely bonus. Met Kelly (Chaz's partner and co owner) the following morning, again with a really friendly welcome. |It's in a great position, just a 1 minute walk to the nearest pub, and 2 minutes to the main high street. But no noise in the rooms from these, We both slept great. Also, just a few minutes from the train and bus station. They were fully booked this weekend, and you can see why. Would definitely recommend this guest house. Ticked all the boxes. Cannot, wait to book, and stay again. Thanks,...
Read moreWow what a perfect place to stay. We've just come home from a weekend away staying at the Bella Vista Guest House. When we arrived we were greeted with a warm and friendly welcome from Chaz and Kelly. They have plenty of private parking. We were shown our room (number 5) everything was exceptionally clean and we had everything we needed. Comfortable bed, towels, tea & coffee even a mini fridge! Throught our stay Chaz and Kelly went above and beyond to make sure we had a fantastic stay. They recommend plenty of places to eat, Cattleman's steak house was a highlight for us, also the Local Thai restaurant, chandler's and The spinning wheel just to name a few, everything is on the doorstep so no need to drive. We did need a taxi for the Cattleman's steak house which Chaz organised happily for us. We will be visiting again without a doubt. Thank you Chaz and Kelly once again from...
