Arrived at about 1945, with our dog, on a Saturday night and seated no problem in a nice table looking out on to the green at the rear. It was relatively quiet. To the untrained eye, it looks like you have to come through late night burger bar to get to the restaurant. The waitress was very pleasant, if not over attentive but I believe she had only been there a few weeks. Nothing was too much trouble for her, though. I had the Spanish sausage starter. This was ok. For the mains, we had the chicken burger and the spicey burger. Both were actually very good. Along with a side portion of chips. They had a varied menu detailed on the wall. Found the salt and pepper pots/shakers to be the type you just get from Tesco, you know ones you can just twist the top to grind the salt/pepper. Wouldn't look out of place in a " Caf ". The vinegar was presented in a Sarsons bottle. Decent food. Heard the couple beside us compliment it as...
Read moreDon't bother go somewhere else. We choose this restaurant because of it's good reviews and I took my partner here for her birthday. A member of staff showed us to our table which he hurriedly cleared while we waited (admittedly there were only three members of staff including the cook). The restaurant was not busy but once seated we had to wait several minutes before we received the menu and wine list which the waiter was apologetic for. We ordered sea bass from the specials board and the local burger with a side of chips. My partner's fish dish was served with what appeared to be frozen peas and green beans with a single fillet of sea bass and four splodges of tomato sauce for £19.50 which she described as almost tasteless. My burger was in fairness nicely cooked but again tasteless. The bun was burnt and was made soggy with the rather wet salad and dressing. The chips appeared to be cooked from frozen. The wine we ordered was very nice though!! To be honest we were really disappointed with our visit there and wished we had gone...
Read moreWhat a gem of a place. Started with such a friendly welcome by the staff, including the chef as the kitchen is completely visible, behind glass. Seated at a lovely high table. Extremely clean and well looked after interior. Nice selection of drinks and my wife's pink g&t was one of the best she said she's had. For food, I had the Bbq mixed grill. All that's going to last a couple of days it was so big. Great selection of meats on it. My wife had salmon on zucchini spaghetti! Different, but very very tasty. When the bill came I was pleasantly surprised as it was very reasonable. All in all a lovely evening with lovely food and exemplary service. Def a go...
