I brought my scruffy little rescue Westie to Emma after a recommendation from a colleague. I have only had him about 2 months and he has had a a previous groom somewhere else that was ok but not great. When I took him in, after researching The Dog House Spa, I was warmly greeted by Emma who listened to all my concerns about his skin irritations and other issues. She gave me some great advice (even better she has worked at a vets previously) and understood all my concerns and was well informed. The online booking system is brilliant and sends you a form to fill in before the appointment, with the opportunity for you to let them know your dogs personality, traits and fears, if any. Something I haven't come across before and gives me confidence they actually care about your individual dog and his or her wellbeing. Upon collecting my little man, I nearly cried as he went in greasy and a bit unkempt but came out fluffy and silky with a cut that compliments his breed. But most of all, he was calm and happy. I can't thank and recommend Emma enough. You have a customer for life! Much...
Read moreI can not speak highly enough about Charlie and Co. It is the place to be seen if you have a dog or dogs, as most people that I have seen in there have. Don't get me wrong, you don't need to be a dog owner to visit this place, as the drinks, snacks, and cakes are sublime, however, I would say the majority of patrons are dog owners.
The owners of Charlie and Co have found a uniquely niche market, where the dog is the star. There are items on the menu especially created for your pampered pooch, with every dog offered a free "Puppachino", (dog treat, wrapped in a bowl of cream), while the humans tuck into the lovely cakes, pastries and toasties etc on offer, alongside a very good selection of hot and cold drinks.
There is even a dog grooming salon on the upper level, so you can relax while your doggie gets a pampering. Prices seem very reasonable, although we haven't availed our little four legged friend of this service yet.
All in all, a lovely place to relax with your little four legged friend, without worrying whether you are bothering...
Read moreReally looked forward to having lunch here today. It always looks lovely when I pass so today we went for lunch there. It was very disappointing....I ordered a ciabatta without balsamic vinegar on salad but mayo instead. It was very busy so I expected to wait a while. When it arrived it was a toasted sandwich so pointed this out {salad was fine)....they returned it but this time with balsamic over the salad. Waitress reluctantly took it back and returned with plain salad with mayo.....it was on the original plate and balsamic was on the plate absorbed into the crisps and the bread and here there and every where. It was also cold by now and tea was cold. This was shambolic and returning a plate which was not clean was not acceptable. They should have paid attention at the till and made fresh food as the messing about they did left my food cold before I could eat it. Bit poor really......yes they were busy but that is no excuse for...
