There is a barista who I believe is called "Jaoa" or "Joao" I couldn't quite see his name badge. This is my second bad experience with him and so I'm complaining. In December I came in frequently to order a honeycomb hot chocolate while the Costa Christmas menu was on and was served by several different people, all of whom did not question my order and it was so good I even brought my mum in and we both had one. However on maybe my fifth time, this man served me and was extremely rude. He told me I couldn't have a honeycomb hot chocolate and that I meant the honeycomb latte. As a very non confrontational and polite person I nicely explained that I'd ordered it several times before without problem. He then huffed and puffed and loudly clattered around as he made it and spoke to me so rudely that even my boyfriend who generally doesn't pick up on such things said "He was so rude to you" when we left. I then tried my drink which tasted like warm milk as he hadn't made it properly and I was so disappointed that my favourite drink had been ruined and yet I'd payed the same price. Today he was the only person serving so I had no choice but to be served by him. He was very rude right from the start and a woman interrupted my order to nicely tell him he'd forgotten her milk and he said "What?" Rudely and then muttered "F**k off" as he poured some milk into a cup! He was right in front of me and I couldn't believe it! The woman was stood a few feet away and luckily didn't hear it! He then continued being rude to me until my order was done. This is appalling and upon speaking to friends I have found out several people have been treated this way by him. Read moreSince my last review on Costa Coffee, Copper Street, Brewery Square, Dorchester the management has changed. The Store Manager there at the moment isn’t nothing like the last one. She has been late several times wen she is supposed to be there on time, turns up wen she feels like it, relies on other members of staff to do her job for her, cuts staff hours, gets members of staff to train trainees wen she should be doing it. If, she’s not committed to do her job properly, she shouldn’t be the Store Manager. Bring in someone who interacts with the customers, friendly, and invites the customers back. Read moreNice costa branch. Friendly staff (it is Dorset). Once a barista got my smoothie order wrong- it was the Oats Banana and Coffee smoothie and it tasted absolutely rank. I went to change it and she took it straight back and said she'd made it wrong. I was glad she admitted it but if you knew that you made it wrong, why give it to the customer in the first place? Bitter slimey water is no fun in anyone's book! Needless to say I got a different smoothie no problem.
The branch is large and has upstairs (chronically cold aircon) and outdoor seating which is nice...
