First visit - looked really good, but was too cold so we moved on. Second time of trying , we had a good meal and I would go again.

Service was initially very good, although later it deterioated as staff changed.

My meal was very nice, one of the party had a penne arrabiate which was far too hot.

The atmosphere is lovely and location is very good.

and because it made me smile, nothing to do with this venue... I taught my kids about democracy tonight by having them vote on what movie to watch and pizza to order And then I picked the movie and pizza I wanted because I'm the one with the money.

How I Mark I may mark differently to some other reviewers, some might see this as harsh, others may see it as fair. But here's how I look at it:

5 star - WOW. I want to go back and look forward to doing so. They delivered everything expected and more. The 'more; is normally about the service or attitude of the staff. 4 star - GOOD. They delivered everything I wanted and a bit more. I recommend them and would go back. 3 star - OK. They delivered what I expected, I would go back if I needed to, although don't currently plan on doing so. 2 star - Not very good. I didn't get what I expected and the service wasn't good. I don't recommend this place. I might get dragged back here, although will always try to avoid it 1 star - This was rubbish. Don't go there, I certainly won't go there again. I didn't get what I wanted, the people were unhelpful and I didn't enjoy...

This restaurant is extremely overpriced for the quality of food and service.

The service was one of the strangest experiences I'd ever had. One of us barely touched the chicken dish as it was tough as a boot. We asked for it to be taken off the bill, and the response from the waiter was that he'd done a callback 2 minutes after we received the food, and said we were happy, so the best they can offer is 10% off.

In addition, we were misled as to what the waiting time would be. When we arrived, we were told it'd be a roughly 30 minute wait. In reality, it took an hour and 10 minutes from ordering to get our food. When we pointed this out, the waiter tried to gaslight us into thinking we were told this all along.

The interior is very dated, and the tables are very sticky. They've also tried to maximise their revenue by putting too many tables and chairs inside, making it difficult to manoeuvre around. It's not very accessible.

It's pretty clear this restaurant views their customers as transient tourists and believe they don't need to offer service and food which matches their prices.

Save your money and go elsewhere. There are far nicer, and cheaper, Italian...

The system would not allow me to give lower than 1 star but does not even deserve the 1. We did give this restaurant 3 chances. Firstly after we booked a week in advance, they misplaced our booking. After interrogation they did realise they were at fault and offered the ladies a glass of Prosecco but ignored the men … but the Prosecco never arrived. They finally found us a table which we were pleased about…. But it didn’t get any better. It took half an hour to give our order. And we’re told the food would be a while as the kitchen staff were having a rest after serving a large group upstairs. In the meantime, the music in the area above us got louder and louder and we were informed that there was a wedding party going on. The music got soooo loud we could not hear ourselves speak. After mentioning this to management, they said they would move us……. mmmmmmm 5 minutes they said…... In the mean time they tried to serve our starters, which we turned away as were were not happy to eat where we were seated. Still waiting to be moved we finally gave up and paid for our wine, which I think was generous on our behalf and left. So, so...

Da Vinci’s has a great location and a lovely atmosphere, and I really appreciated the use of fresh ingredients in the dishes — you can tell the produce is good quality. Unfortunately, the positives stopped there for me. The service was the biggest letdown. On arrival, we were greeted (if you can call it that) by a young man who I believe is the owner’s son — his selfie is in the menu. His attitude was rude and sarcastic from the outset, which immediately put us off. The other waiters didn’t seem to know what they were doing and couldn’t even name the dish when serving it to me. It felt like the staff were more focused on payment than actually providing good service. Also no women working, only very young men which is strange to me.. Food was slightly overcooked, which was disappointing given how fresh the ingredients seemed. Also, the outdoor seating could use an upgrade — some nicer chairs would really elevate the space and match the otherwise charming vibe. A place with potential, but sadly the service and attention to detail really missed the mark.

Not a local—just visiting the area—but really glad I stumbled across Da Vinci’s down in the port of Poole. It’s in a great spot with the option to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air or tuck into your meal inside in a cosy, welcoming setting. I went for the Linguine Scallops and King Prawns (£30) from the specials board, and it was absolutely spot on. The seafood was fresh and generous, and the pasta was packed with flavour—garlic, chilli, cherry tomatoes, anchovies and a splash of white wine. Rich, delicious and not too heavy. It’s also really child-friendly, especially for earlier diners—there were families around but it still felt relaxed and well-paced. Staff were lovely, friendly without being over the top. Not the cheapest dish on the menu, but for the quality, I’d say it was well worth it. Would definitely come back if I’m in Poole again.
