Is this really one of Bournemouth's best restaurants?
We wanted somewhere to go that we could take our doggies with us. If you book on their website and tick you are bringing a dog, they will allocate a suitable table. Upon arrival, we were all very warmly greeted. As if we were old friends. Bearing in mind we had only just booked with them for the first time an hour earlier. We were shown to a reserved table on the terrace.
The food they serve is Seafood and French cuisine. It's open all day from breakfast time to evening. As it was lunchtime you can choose from their Bistro or Main menu.
We went for a couple of starters. Scallops in Normandy garlic butter. Double baked cheese souffle finished with cream.
And for mains:- Turbot fish pie. Fresh Turbot, mixed fish, prawns & mushrooms, Muscadet cream sauce topped with mash.
Monkfish Medallions & Tiger Prawns In a red Thai curry served with rice.
We were not planning on having a dessert. But noticed they do an all time classic of Crêpes Suzette, orange segments, flambéed with Grand Marnier.
The food served here is excellent, with menu choices that are mind-boggling. If you can't decide what to have? It's the sort of place you could go to and just say, "Bring me anything". That's if your are not a fussy eater🤣

I enjoyed the early service, before 19:30, I’m sure that the later evening would of been just as delightful :)
Excellent food, with great service, if you happen to be in Poole and want an exquisite fish dinner, with a fantastic seaside atmosphere on the quay,
The Resturant is tastefully appointed with simple but authentic French cuisine, and decor,
The cold prawns are delightful full of flavour and I understand the tempura are the favourite but I recommend the flavour vs convenience ;)
It is run by passionate people who know food, you can tell because they are attentive and keep checking if you are enjoying the dishes.
The escargot was made with unsalted butter which allowed me to manage the flavour and it was also tasty :)
The lemon sole is fantastic!! It’s tempura style but oh so light, the garnish is also sweet with chilli which compliments the tempura with balance and edge… slight heat
And a fresh samphire garnish to add salinity to the dish, ideal!
Don’t go by yourself there is too much good food and you need to share it, you will enjoy it more.
French desert does not discount and this once the crème brûlée was decent and a good choice to close off the dinner.
I leave satisfied and...
Read more4 of us out for an evening meal catching up with old friends. Our French host was welcoming and we were quickly taken to our table. The seating was comfortable and the menu had a great selection of fish and meat dishes ( and if you must Vegan dishes). I had the bouillabaisse fish soup which was rich and packed with flavour followed by whole sea bass which I can honestly say was the best I have ever had , truly delicious. Others had beef bourginion and Dover sole. The wine list covered all tastes and budgets . Service was attentive and staff well informed and helpful although we did have to wait for our wine and our coffees. The restaurant was a nice place to eat and they had gone to the trouble of fitting sound attenuation panels on the ceiling which meant that although the restaurant was full we had easy conversations at our table without hearing everyone else, bravo. To sum up a great place to eat , not cheap...
