First time ever going in with a friend of mine yesterday morning, and I absolutely loved the vibe here! Alternative, unique, and niche. We were there sometime after 9am to get some hot beverages (I was pleasantly surprised to hear they open so early). I ordered the hot chocolate, which was seriously one of the best cups of hot chocolate I've had in ages, which I know probably sounds a bit dramatic lol. But truly, it's rare to find a good spot for hot chocolate in most places and here at DiveHU5, you could actually taste the chocolate it was made with! And it wasn't overly sweet or bitter. It also wasn't a blistering hot chocolate either, so extra points for that. It was hot enough to be hot, but I didn't need to let it sit for 10+ minutes to get it to cool down enough for it to be had. It was seriously a perfect hot chocolate, in my personal opinion. I also didn't need anything adding to it or changing; though once I was told I could have added other flavours to it I was immediately keen to come back (the flavours of "cinnamon roll" and "honey & pistachio" really got my attention there). It was honestly so lovely getting to experience this spot in the mellow environment of the early morning for hot bevs with my friend. I could easily have spent the whole morning there just staying warm out of the rain and enjoying the vibe lol. I'm sure this place is very popular at night when its bar is open, too! The cocktails menu they had there had some pretty unique drinks named after musicians/their songs, one of which that stuck out to me was "Purple Rain". Great spot! Would love to come back and support local again &...
Read moreI had a beer here on 3 November. A girl came up to me and said "follow me to the toilets, £50". I said that I didn't have £50 and £25 was mentioned. Things like this can happen anywhere. I went in here again tonight and I mentioned what happened on 3 Nov to a member of staff. The person I mentioned it to got extremely cross, started swearing at me and accused me of saying bad things about the bar. I asked if I could drink here again and he said "no". I am barred and that's fine with me. I guess if you drink here you've got to be willing to turn a blind eye to anything dodgy. I say it like I see it. I will drink elsewhere. A little while later, the same bloke grabbed my arm outside another bar and tried to start an argument about my review of "his business". It's nonsense for the management to pretend that "everyone is welcome". I certainly was not made welcome there and I have not visited...
Read moreD Powell - it seems like you're mostly annoyed about not having £50 for something that never happened. I've never met a sane person that doesn't love Dive. Hope you're ok though.
"sean jones" - that never happened either. There's not many bars that are so welcoming and have so many good people frequenting them. Lots of love x
Dive welcomes everyone from anywhere - the only thing they ask is that you're just as welcoming. See you there (as long as you're nice, reasonable, and don't...
