WOW! I can not reccomend this place enough. That much so it is 1am, I have just landed in Stamford my home after a 2 hour drive from an amazing evening here, so much so I am sharing my review now!

Along with the below review from a visit last year. Tonight was just the cherry on the top! It was my beautiful Nieces 18th Birthday and our whole evening was very personable, professional and we all left after having enjoyed fresh and tasty deliciously varied fresh food from the menu, at a leisurely pace as it was Monday, the other thing great about mondays here is the 2 for 1 cocktails list, as I am a non drinker I really enjoyed a very well made non alcoholic mojito. The lady who served us for the majority of the evening was lovely and attentive. The gentleman (Manager, Rico I think) was a superstar and helped us give my niece a very special night to remember. A true gem, An italian that still has authenticity and led with passion. Thank you. Thank you. Kindest, Lisa xx Ps.. see you again soon Pps....This below was our review from last year x “Top food, Staff and Atmosphere” 26 Jan 2019 LisaMayLord (117 reviews) We were spoilt fof choice with eateries in the area, we booked this based on the reviews and always liking to try new places, we booked in advance as we were travelling from Nottinghamshire to have a family get together and we were not disappointed!

The front of house service w light on bodies but the ladies were not flapping and were very professional fun and friendly.

The atmosphere was lovely, personally as I worked in an Italian restaurant for years I like the odd italian song thrown in a bit of rammazotti maybe, however the tunes were very nice and chilled.

We should of taken a picture of the delicious fresh food on arrival and then departure of the plates as all 8 plates were cleaned up empty, so much so not a crumb left! A variety of dishes and all absolutely spot on so fresh.

Very reasonable prices too!

You've got this right guys. We all had a fantastic night. Needless to say we will be back. Thank you. Lisa Lord x

We started the evening as the only customers in the restaurant on a Friday night celebrating finishing medical school. Just after we had ordered a large group around 40 people came in and were seated completely surrounding us, they were a very loud boisterous group reaching levels where we couldn't hear each other speak. The food was amazing however when we raised that we didn't feel it was appropriate to be booked in with such a large group and had we known we would have booked a different night. We were met with an incredibly hostile and volatile response where we were told there was space for us so why did it matter. The waiter loomed over the table thrusting a card machine in a group members face while ignoring any form of complaint. As we left the waiter was clearly mocking us with other staff. I have never been so disappointed with a restaurant experience and despite the food and other service I shall never return here based solely upon this waiter. He was mid 20s in a blue shirt with blonde hair - if you eat here I hope you are not...

The BEST italian in Hull.

A small quaint restaurant buried in the heart of Princes Avenue. Whether you are dining in, collection or delivery, the food quality is the same. Always delicious and tasty.

The prices are adequate for the size and quality of the portions and with inflation i can understand why they have risen slightly. I don't mind paying the extra, the whole experience at Da Gianni's is worth it.

The staff are wonderful and friendly, including the Manager and Chef's (you can see them while they are cooking and they take a moment to speak with you). It is a real friendly family unit with great atmosphere. They you feel valued and get to know you personally. Very authentic as this is what it is like in Italy.

Recommendations for food:

Starter: Garlic, Tomato and Pesto Bread Mains:...

We have been to Da Gianni multiple times and usually are left nothing less than impressed, however after our last visit i am quite sad to say that we left extremely disappointed. My partner and I started off with the bruchetta and antipaste, this was lovely however my partners main was was let it all down, he ordered a calzone which is what he usually orders and upon it's arrival overcooked was an understatement, the inside of it was incredibly dry and the crust was all burnt, i have attached an image of the crust whuch he had picked out from his meal to this review.Unfortunately he has now been put off Da Gianni and I do not think we will be returning after this which is quite a shame.

Lovely place, tasty food and helpful staff. What else need I say? A small family gathering was booked at short notice (a Saturday evening so the restaurant was quite busy). Everyone enjoyed the food and company. I had calzone followed by a huge portion of tiramisu and thought both were very good. I didn't pay but the menu prices seemed quite reasonable. My only (really small) gripe is the place was a bit too warm, but I suppose that comes with the low ceilings and heavy duty ovens in the semi open kitchen. We'd definitely go back.

Absolutely loved it! After winning my bodybuilding show in Hull, I decided to have an Italian meal and ended up walking to this place because the reviews were great! I made the right choice, I enjoyed every bite, and the restaurant owner spoiled me rotten with all the typical Italian food you don't find anywhere else in the uk. His staff was very welcoming and took great care of all details. It's a must go place!
