Caffe Gelato — Restaurant in England

I really wanted to be pleased as we were looking forwards to our food tonight, unfortunately it was cold, late and wrong, and none of it ended up eaten. We hadn't had chance to eat all day because of being out of the area and didn't get back until 8pm. We checked the first delivery time for 8.50pm as we were hungry and hoping to eat and be in bed by 10. The first issue was trying to call the restaurant to add strawberries to the Nutella pizza. After 2 calls rang out and were ignored the third was picked up and immidiately put down. On the 4th attempt I finally get through. It was delivered about 15mins late which isn't the end of the world but it was also cold. The churros and Nutella pizza can't be reheated so unfortunately they were out. We still hoped we'd get the pizza reheated and manage to eat before 10. It was a tuna pizza so we knew reheating it meant it would be dry and not taste great but we were so hungry by that point we just wanted anything to eat. When we pulled out the pizza we realised that they had substituted the sweetcorn with mushrooms. Partner can't eat mushrooms and by this time it's nearly 10pm, almost 2 hours after originally ordering. He decided to just go to bed hungry and I made myself a snack and it all went into bin. Very expensive to just throw away and it was made more annoying by the fact they had every opportunity to mention the substitution by 1. Calling on the number provided 2. Not offering menu items they couldn't provide 3. Mentioning it when I called prior to my order being made or 4. When it was delivered. Given the extortionate prices the very least to be expected is hot food that is correct. It should all be exceptional to justify the prices compared to other places and a lot of reviewers have had the same issues so they don't seem to care about making things right or customer retention or they'd correct their pretty fundamental issues as a priority instead of continually...

I always come here for desserts and I think they’re great. But my 2 issues would be 1) the customer service, for some reason staff are always moody and rude to you and I’ve been here quite a few times but it’s always the case. No idea why? Are they told in their training to give customers attitude? My mum asked for extra sauce once and the waitress told her she should’ve mentioned that when ordering and then after being rude just never brought it. The money for the extra sauce isn’t coming out of your pocket why are you stressed? 2) the seating. There aren’t many seats so sometimes, especially in the evening, there is literally nowhere to sit so you’ll have to get a takeout.
