My partner and I went to this cafe today. The cafe is quite dirty. We sat upstairs and a lot of black mould was present on the ceiling in the top right hand corner, which is a health hazard. A lot of the plants were dead, not 'flourishing'. We also noticed a lot of dust and cobwebs throughout the cafe. The cleanliness was enough to put us off, but we had already ordered and paid.
We both agreed that the food was mediocre. I ordered halloumi, avocado and poached egg on toast. It came with two slices, one of which only had the ingredients on it. The other slice was plain.
My cutlery also felt a bit oily to touch, which was off-putting.
However, the coffee that I had was lovely and the staff were very friendly.

The only spare table was downstairs & my friend remarked that it smelled a bit damp (probably down to the bad weather on the day.) We placed our lunch orders but there was a mix up with mine & they'd "oversold" the very nice sounding "Butternut squash, smoked cheese & spring onion Quiche" that I'd ordered with salad. Read moreI have been a fan of Flourish for years. The food and cakes are excellent and always a good selection. However more recently the cleanliness of the tables and floor has been let go. The tables are left sticky and there is crumbs and caked on dirt all over the floor. On a recent visit the toilet bin is full to capacity with paper towels ?. Its a shame, I feel it has been let go.
