Garden Social — Restaurant in England

My dog is 15 and in all her years on the planet, she has NEVER drunk water from a “public” water bowl, the kind you find in shops and cafes and pubs our outside the houses of wonderful humans on hot days. Puddles, rivers, lakes yes. Bowls no. I have taken to carrying her own little collapsible bowl around with her because she’s so determined. But she just took a drink in the bowl at Garden Social. I honestly don’t know what this means, the moment was so huge I’m still processing it. But if you were wondering what kind of place this is, now you know. Visiting Chester from Sussex and was taking a walk along the canal path with a very dear friend of mine. I searched online for a place to eat near by. What an absolute gem of a place I found.

The coffee is superb and the food, wow! We each chose the Christmas toasted sandwich and it was so delicious especially with the cup of gravy, which I hadn’t experienced before.

My favourite coffee spot in Chester. Has a real community vibe; supporting local suppliers, hosting events like comedy nights, supper clubs and markets. Not to mention, great coffee, great food, a seemingly endless supply of sweet treats (including vegan & GF options) and lovely owners. Just general good vibes all round ✌🏼
