Grizzlers — Restaurant in England

Me too Disappointing. Was expecting a lot more going by the reviews. Reading the reviews again however, I agree with people that mostly gave it a 2 star rating than the average 4.5 stars it currently has. Nice looking shop in a clean location but limited and cramped seating. Everything is cooked behind the counter. Good enough ventilation. It didn't affect dining inside. The bench, table and sauce bottles were all dirty (sticky to the touch). There's no sinks or toilets for that matter. Pink salt is a nice touch but the ketchup is a cheap brand. Negatively affects the taste of the food. Couldn't enjoy the chips. The classic burger was really bland. It had very little seasoning and was dry. Also had no cheese, hardly any salad and cheap sauces. The buns was the best thing about it. Yes, the buns! Also ordered wings. There's quite a few options on the menu. Asked if I could try a couple of flavours but was told I could only pick 1 flavour per order. The ones we went for were nice and spicy but my wish was trying at least a couple. Okay customer service. Approachable but abrupt and not accommodating. Disappointed in the end. For the price of the food, better ingredients could've been used. Few tweaks and it has the potential to improve. Parking available close by on Wimbledon Street. £1 for 2 hours.

One of the most recommended places in Leicester situated near the heart of the city. The place is modestly sized seating approximately 20 people at one time. Currently, I can't make any comments about staff or service as I didn't have much contact with them. I came in, I ordered and the food arrived in record time ~ around 7 minutes.

I'll start off with the peri peri wings. They were amazing, asked for it hot and it was definitely feisty. Amazing taste and the wings were cooked perfectly. After devouring the wings before the tray even landed on the table, I set my sights on the burger. The Juicy Lucy stood head and shoulders ahead of all the other selections for me, two patties with molten cheese in the middle. However, as we received the food, I realised we were mislead. There was only ONE patty. I opened up the front camera to see if I looked like a mug, I'd been betrayed. Stab the body and it heals, but injure the stomach and the wound lasts a lifetime. The menu on the front was not the same as the menu when you sat down. False advertising at its finest.

Disappointed, I began to drown my sorrows with the fries, they were standard at best with a few burnt surprises. The chilli sauce was worth mentioning, probably homemade but you'll either love it or hate it.

Portion size was also below satisfactory and I was left hungry after completing the meal. They really had to over deliver on the burger for me to leave a happy man. The patty had the thickness and curves that you'd expect your dream woman to have. She was "Thic!" After the first few bites, the molten cheese that was somehow smuggled inside the patty poured out in a magical fashion. This cheese completes the burger, the texture was so smooth and I realised why it was named Juicy Lucy. All in all, a great experience but could have been MUCH better.

7/10 or 8/10 if that missing patty...

My sister and I were looking for a quick bite before a show at The Curve theatre this week, and Grizzlers is literally around the corner. You could be forgiven for thinking this is just another takeaway, but the unassuming frontage completely undersells itself!

Not being local (living 40 miles away), neither of us had heard of Grizzlers but my sister found reviews online and we figured we would give it a visit. On entering you immediately realise that it’s tiny, with just a handful of tables, but we sat down and with some difficulty in choosing we finally decided what to order and waited. We went for sharing onion rings, classic dirty fries and both chose the Juicy Lucy burger.

This place is cash only, and food is cooked to order so takes a while, but my word is it worth the wait!!!

While we were waiting we were asked if we’d tried their wings (no we said, this is our first visit) so we were served lemon & herb wings to try on the house - gorgeous! Super zingy & VERY lemony, with a hint of heat & spice.

The burgers when they arrived were indeed juicy, cooked to perfection and downright delicious with cheese melting from the middle. The onion rings were just right, nice and crispy on the outside and super soft in the middle. The dish that stole the show for us though were the dirty fries; we had said yes when asked if we wanted caramelised onions & peppers on them, and ohhhhhh myyyyyy worrrrd!!!!! I would go back to Leicester and back to Grizzlers just for those fries, they were simply amazing. Soft fries under a pile of unctuous, oozing and simply delectable mozzarella, peppers, onions and house sauce.

Also, a nice touch at the end of the meal was being given hand wipes to clean up with.
