Roxy Ball Room Leicester Humberstone Gate — Restaurant in England

I recently visited Roxy Ballroom in Leicester and unfortunately had a very poor experience with both the service and the drinks. Firstly, we were overcharged by £8. The server who initially took our order oddly asked us to “check the price” at the till, which raised concerns.

We paid anyway, and we realised the cost seemed extortionate aftwrword and checked the bill.

When we queried it, the staff member opened the till account and could clearly see what we had ordered and was charged. instead of acknowledging the mistake, he asked what we had been charged. and interrogated us It felt like a cover-up rather than an honest error.

When we challenged the overcharge, and got it resolved. both the manager and the employee kept staring at us, Which made the atmosphere uncomfortable and unwelcoming.

On top of this, the quality of the drinks was extremely poor. We ordered two double rum and coke zeros at almost £13 each. The drink was served flat, with no ice, no fruit garnish(for £13, thats horrid!!!), and had (after investigation) come from nunrefrigerated Coke Zero bottles. But they admitted thay they also don’t keep them in the fridge — which explains exactly why it tasted so bad.

Overall, this visit was very disappointing. Between being overcharged, poor service, and low-quality drinks, I can not recommend this venue. There are plenty of other places offering far better service and value.

Where do I even begin? Planning a team outing for 12 people is no small feat, and I'll admit, I was a bit nervous about how it would go. But from the moment we stepped into Roxy Ballroom, it was clear we were in for a top-notch experience. The managers, Ellie and Jack, deserve a standing ovation! They welcomed us with such warmth and patience, treating our lively crew with kindness and care, even as we juggled rounds of bowling, ping pong, and pool!

Each game was a blast thanks to how well-maintained all the equipment was. There’s something to be said about a venue that takes pride in the details, and Roxy delivered! Even with a packed house, Ellie, Jack, and the whole team stayed calm, collected, and committed to making sure we had the best time.

What impressed me most was that no matter how busy they got, they made each of us feel like VIPs. It’s rare to see such genuine hospitality in action, and it’s clear that Roxy’s staff are pros at what they do. They absolutely deserve a reward for creating such a welcoming and fun environment for everyone who walks through their doors.
