I'm going to break this review into sections to fully cover how amazing this restaurant truly is!

Starter: To start my partner and I had the Bruscetta. The dish was served perfectly, with a great portion size and amazing flavours. Excellently presented, with well seasoned tomatoes and perfectly toasted bread. Could not fault the starter in any way!

Main: For mains, my partner and I both had the Carbonara. I again cannot fault the dish in any way at all. The pasta was cooked to perfection (al dente), the sauce was delicate on the palette and seasoned superbly with portion sizes spot on! Presentation was impeccable with parmesan and ground pepper offered once served. Overall one of the best Carbonaras I have ever eaten!

Dessert: For dessert I chose the tiramisu and my partner chose the crêpe. The tiramisu was light and fluffy and well balanced with the liqueur. The crêpe was perfectly cooked and served with almond flakes and a light syrup. Presentation was again amazing on both dishes!

Price: Upon the bill arriving I was shocked at how cheap it was. I was expecting to be paying well over the amount I had. I would have been more than happy to have paid £20-£30 more for the quality of the whole experience! La Fontana is very reasonably priced!

Service: I have eaten at restaurants with mediocre food where the service has been good enough to make it a pleasant meal. However, to have had such amazing food and such amazing service was a genuine pleasure! The staff are all incredibly friendly, accommodating and pleasant. Nico, Stefano and Franco are some of the best front of house staff I have had the pleasure to have been served by, working well as a team and efficiently serving a full restaurant, whilst continuing to joke and jest with the patrons!

Atmosphere: As seen in the photos, La Fontana has a unique design making you feel like you're genuinely in Italy, with well designed lighting replicating a small back alley in the streets of Venice.

Conclusion: To conclude, La Fontana is the best Italian restaurant I have had the pleasure to dine at! The service is impeccable and the food genuinely rivaling that of restaurants in Italy. I dearly look forward to the time I can visit La Fontana again and wish every lover of Italian cuisine can experience the truly amazing dining...

Visited here with my girlfriend on Monday, nice food and very nice interior however service was disappointing, we were served by the Italian man and he was just a little rude, it started with my girlfriend sitting on the outside seat and me sitting on the inside, he stared awkwardly for around 5 seconds and told her she needs to move up and sit face to face with me, fair enough he was joking but it was just a little rude and awkward let people sit where they want, then we asked for a recommendation of either lasagna or carbonara, he continued to tell us what they both were explaining lasagna is sheets of pasta etc, however this isn’t what we wanted to know we wanted a recommendation so we said again what one would you recommend he just looked at us and said “yes” now I understand this may be due to the fact English isn’t his first language but when later on he made rude comments it confused me on how he is able to use sarcasm in English but not able to make a recommendation. He asked us what our plans were for the night I went to respond and tell him and he just says oh it’s Monday everywhere’s shut so nothing, now amazingly everywhere wasn’t shut after the meal so he’s incorrect but also he’s not really asking a question hes just wanting to make a smug remark and put a downer on our night, they then bring us a desert menu (that we haven’t asked for) and then leave the menus for around 20 mins before him returning to see what we would like, I tell him no I’m fine to which he responds come on it’s raining outside what else are you going to do, yet again putting a downer on our night, and then I again have to explain I don’t want a desert I never eat desert when drinking alcohol, so he brings us our bill and there’s a couple of sweets on the plate the bill is on, I make an observation to break the awkwardness of his serving saying oh there a nice touch to which he replies you can’t have them you don’t eat sweet things with alcohol, it’s just a little rude don’t get me wrong I think he was trying to be a good server but he just wasn’t reading that we didn’t enjoy his remarks, we were on a date night we didn’t want a three way date but he was just very apparent in our evening he could not apply parmesan cheese to our food without making it awkward, not what we...

OK this is purely a response to the last review (I'm the partner of the lady who posted before). Just seeing your response sets my teeth on edge because its just simply not true. Also this review does comply with the rules of both trip advisor and Google reviews (this is google reviews not trip advisor so not at all relevant regardless) since we are reviewing based on service (customer service and service literally go hand in hand) - I don't see why highlighting your booking policy is at all relevant in what my partner is saying (I guess you're trying to save face and fit a narrative which makes sense but honesty is the best policy- can't quite believe I'm saying this to a man who is older then myself). We walked in and we clearly heard and saw what unfolded In front of us - both the party of 6 and older couple who you seated In front of us were just walk ins as again we clearly heard and saw everything. Your response to me at the time when I told you or whoever the guy behind the bar was "oh no them 2 were with that party of 6" in regards to seating the other couple first, so you become unstuck essentially and then tried to pass the buck to the younger lad who seemed like a genuinely nice lad - shortly after you scarpered with no accountability or apology at all. I'm a very reasonable man (not boy so again stop with the lies) we aren't silly people. And initially I was OK with your mix up - mistakes happen - we were more frustrated with the lack of apology and that's all it is. You can sit here and lie and say its unfair to give 1 star to the restaurant review but it isn't really is it? The customer service was in no way acceptable so again tell me how that's unfair. No comments on the food because we never experienced it due to you placing a walk In couple before us (possibly because they was older and you felt you could pull the wool over our eyes because we was younger or what not/ perhaps just a genuine mistake either way - please just be honest for future reviews - you made a mistake and you got caught out- next time just apologise- seat us and move on. Have a lovely day mate

P.s In reply to your childish response- you are a lying mug mate - rather be a sad honest reviewer then some oversized baby. Get a grip you...

We love La Fontana! Everytime we are in Blackpool, we try to make La Fontana for dinner at least once! We first visited in 1993 and have loved it since then. The food is second to none. Fresh, tasty, homemade dishes with a welcoming atmosphere and brilliant cheerful staff. Knowledge and years of experience is king in the restaurant game and these guys know their stuff. You can book the restaurant or you can do what we did and just walk in. We knew the opening time, so we made sure we were there at few minutes after 5pm. We were welcomed like long lost family and ushered to our table by Joe. A quiet table towards the back of the restaurant against the wall. Perfect. We ordered two pints of Peroni, which duly arrived and tasted great, very refreshing. I love the minestrone soup, and Stevie had the mozzarella rounds. We chatted to Joe and Samantha who run the restaurant now, a lovely pair! We ordered another 2 Peroni's and had our mains. I had the lasagne and Stevie had the carbonara, both portions were huge and utterly delicious. For dessert we had Affogato with Amaretto liqueur. It was awesome! We also had a digestivo - a shot glass filled with Limoncello which was utterly delightful. All in all a great night, and for both of us to eat our fill it was £110 including drinks and a tip. Without the drinks and tip it would have been round about £30 cheaper but who doesn't leave a tip? It's a great place and we can't wait to go back. It's quite honestly a hidden in plain site gem! The interior design of the restaurant is worth seeing! Feels like you are eating your dinner in a taverna in Italy, somewhere secluded and private. Wonderful place, it has always been like this. Go visit. You won't be disappointed.

This was such an incredible restaurant experience! We had travelled a long way from Leicestershire and were enjoying a couple of nights in Blackpool. We had planned our tripped weeks in advance and arranged to visit this lovely restaurant based on their Google reviews. We were not disappointed! I took some quick photos of some of our dishes. Firstly - The presentation was brilliant. But secondly the food was absolutely exquisite. It was incredibly tasty - the flavour was spot on and the portions were just right! This is the best Italian restaurant we have been to and it was thoroughly authentic. Along with brilliant food were SUPERB staff who were very attentive, friendly AND entertaining. We were served by Stefano, Nico, Francesca and Anita. I didn’t manage to find out who the chef was but I am sending them my compliments!! We thoroughly enjoyed our cocktails too! This restaurant has a really lovely atmosphere. Perfect in every way! If we find ourselves in Blackpool again, we will be returning and won’t hesitate to recommend to friends and family. Thank you for a brilliant dinner.
