Compass Café Bar — Restaurant in England

From 12th April 2021 people are able to eat outdoors.

So happy to see things getting back to normal. Small businesses that have invested so much into social distancing measures and still having to close for months were open for business. Cafes, pubs and shops all giving off great vibes. Non more so than one of my favourite eateries. Compass cafe. Good to see them back to doing what they do so well, welcoming people, offering great food and the icing on the cake, they are licensed to sell alcohol. Excellent social distancing measures in place.

The weather was kind too. The sun was shining. Not a cloud in the sky.They have a great sunny spot on Birley Street so great for soaking up vitamin D.

I had the best cup of tea ive had in months! Every mouthful was like drinking nectar!!!

And as for my lunch. It was pretty as a picture. So much so I'm going to make it my social media profile pic! It tasted even better than it looks. Grilled halloumi, avocado (I told the owner that it was actually the tastiest avocado I've ever tasted) served on a bed of fresh salad. A drizzle of sweet chilli sauce which I wouldn't normally have (diabetic) but I thought it fitting for such a special occasion!

Excellent service as always, very friendly staff. There was definitely a buzz in the air.

The icing on my cake was bumping into my lovely daughter in law and granddaughter (popular cafe) and we shared a table. We are in the same bubble.

Went for brunch had all day breakfast. Our server Rebecca is amazing. She informed me of all my choices as a coeliac. Couldn't have a sausage but got extra bacon instead. The Best meal I ate all weekend as a coeliac. Chef made gluten free toast separately so it was safe for me. Used the facilities and they were spotless. Always say you can tell a place by their toilets and I'm not wrong here. Extra thumbs up to Rebecca, I would vote for a raise for her lol. I will be back and I will definitely update coeliac UK that this is a very safe place to eat. Also we sat outside on the terrace and it was lovely. I saw the monster breakfast pizzas on the next table to me. I've never seen anything like that before. Pizzas with a full English on top. Oh I wish I could have eaten that. Sorry no pics but you will guaranteed be satisfied with the food here. Great...

At first it was good, The prices were rather inflated. And the portions were small, for the price I'd have expected at least double. It felt like I was being charged as an adult and fed as a child.

The service started off good until they threw out my dogs gourmet treats, I called, and called and called and was ignored, I went back to speak to someone about this because I was jot happy that they did it and that I tried to call about it and they laughed at me and told me they don't answer the phone.
