I came here 4 years ago and it was just another "not-quite-average" Italian. So I never came back again. However, after seeing its recent dominance in TripAdvisor reviews I decided I had to try again as something surely had changed.

Spoiler - I found out there was indeed a small shake up a few years ago. Primarily with a new head chef and a lady, who I presume to be Manager. I have a suspicion she is probably behind the reform and consequent success...

Anyway, onto the important stuff, the food. We had seafood Tagliatelle and Gnocchi bolognese. Both were great, but the Seafood Tag took the headline us. The flavour was PERFECT. It is extremely hard to get a seafood flavour so strong and rich without being "fishy" or salty. But this new guy nailed it.

We also had a starter of Garlic Bread which was on a freshly baked pizza base. The desserts were really good... I loved the fact that they weren't too sweet. Shows me whoever made them, knew what they were doing.

All the staff were Italian, which I liked, they all spoke Italian between themselves, which coupled up with the decor truly made it feel like it was a little escape to Italy. The new Lady (manager?) was really passionate about the food, telling us all the ingredients without us even asking - stating how fresh things were and when it was made.

If I was being picky, I'd say that they should make fresh Pasta - instead of using dried. Nobody else does that in Taunton so I don't blame them... but I make it at home and know how it can take dishes to a whole new level without much effort.

Anyway... 5 stars, because the...

Absolutely fantastic place, stopped by for a cup of coffee and a snack while heading into town, this is only our 2nd visit and we were warmly welcomed and remembered from over a week ago!

Really good coffee and very tasty snacks, we had been thinking about booking a table to try out the main courses for another day thinking it was quite busy but, the very friendly and helpful server, chef, coffee maker (don’t know her name but she is amazing and does it all)! Was very accommodating and managed to squash 3 of us in to an already busy lunch booking.

The food is amazing, all 3 different dishes were piping hot and each tasted delicious, the garlic bread alone is beautiful, all the staff are very friendly, very attentive and very helpful, the pricing of each item was fantastic especially given how much care and attention is given to each meal, we can’t wait to come back for another meal, though we will be definitely popping back sooner for coffee.

Absolutely brilliant place, amazing food, brilliant atmosphere and excellent staff, I...

Th only time in this "hidden gem". Pro's : -Outdoor seating, nice on warm, sunny days Light and smooth Italian birra Messina served -My friends were happy/content with the pizza/pasta and deserts they had The chef came to offer check on us and if the food was fine, also offered to cook something else when I questioned the type of mushrooms put in the risotto.I do not have a habit of throwing or wasting food, so I declined the offer.

Con's: - Clients SHOULD be told/warned if there are substitute/cheaper ingredients in the chosen/ordered meal, thus avoiding embarrassing moments for the chef and staff when are challenged by people that actually KNOW what they are eating, are travelled and are not...

A gorgeous Italian lunch sat outside in their courtyard 👌🏻 The food was delicious. They were rushed off their feet with only one chef and one waiter, however the service was impeccable. The waiter kept coming over to keep us updated, apologising that they were short staffed so things were taking a little longer than normal. So many restaurants need to take note of this. Just a little communication to explain why things are slower goes a LONG way. We were really impressed. I will definitely be back.

The food was superb. Absolute quality. We did need to wait a while for to be served the food but it's cooked fresh to order and was without doubt worth the wait. We had the meatballs special and a pizza. Portions looked small but filled both up. The waiting staff were great, very attentive. Only issue we encountered was that inside was boiling hot on a hot day, and the drinks (lemonade and diet coke) were warm when they were served. The toilet had Aircon but the eating area did not.
