Good Day, Upon descending the 199 steps and strolling betwixt the houses and shops, you will discover this most magical place aside the Ebor Jetworks. It is simply one of the most wonderful locations in Whitby where you may observe the many mortals as they pass by on Whitby's cobbled and beautifully elegant Church Street.
I have spent many an hour inside (Vampyres by invitation, of course) and outside the exquisite Marie Antoinette's Patisserie. The wonderfully presented staff, professional and attentive, with their polished appearances tempt you toward the golden pastries and delicate confections. I find myself drawn to its cosy charm, settling at a table by the window where the scent of freshly baked goods mingle with the cool sea air. I do enjoy sipping the rich, dark perfectly roasted coffee, and like the night, I watch the mortals drift by. The patrons speak of the pastries as absolutely divine. With each bite I notice their cares melt away like the confections melting on their tongues. The soft murmur of life outside provides a gentle accompaniment.
This little patisserie is a gem; a fleeting pleasure in the endless twilight of eternity. I shall return.

Had lunch with my daughter who had peppermint Aero cheesecake and I had a ham and cheese sandwich (the photo only shows two sandwiches, but there were four), AND a piece of coffee and walnut cake both of which were delicious. A great cup of tea too. This place is tiny and arranged over two floors with tiny rooms containing a few tables. You have to order at the counter, so be prepared for a wait as the lady behind the counter was taking orders and making drinks. She did explain that there might be a wait which was fine with me and turned out not to be too long anyway. I paid just under £16 for two drinks, one sandwich (with generous garnish and crisps) and two huge pieces of cake. Very good value, friendly staff, excellent location. Recommended, although I know it gets very busy at weekends so I would...
Read moreGreat stopping point with delicious sandwiches and huge pots of tea. Not huge inside but seating upstairs and you are sensibly advised to find a table before going to place your order at the counter. We had very tasty mozzarella and pesto panini, a Yorkshire ham sandwich and a tuna sandwich. Waiting time was short and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. No baby change facilities but we managed on our knee in the toilet as it was reasonably spacious and the place itself is not big enough to get a pram in, we had a baby sling, so I think the arrangement is fair enough. There is a tiny amount of pavement seating. Cakes are huge and looked delicious. Definitely a must if you need a break after going up...
