They won’t accept your order but you will be fully charged. Because in their words ‘we’ve turned the machine off’.

When you do walk over to Montefiore Fisheries to see what’s happened, the staff won’t be helpful.

In fact, they’ll be visibly angry that you dared try to order online, will try and charge you again for an order you’ve already paid for and will seem genuinely confused why you want a refund. A refund they won’t be able to give you because they use a third party online ordering system.

Best avoided.

Plenty more fish and chip shops in Brighton with an understanding that customers miiiight every now and then want to order online and pick up. Even more will understand that a customer might not want to be charged twice for the same...

the staff member had very poor English and I had to clarify a lot of things that I was trying to tell or ask him. there was a moment where i wanted a pillow to put on the chair to sit on because the chair looked hard and uncomfortable and he didn't know what i meant by "pillow" so I had to show him a photo of a pillow to show him what i was asking for. and he would not season the food so i had to ask him to put salt on. i asked him to salt the chips. and then when i got another battered sausage, it was also not seasoned, so i asked for salt, but he seemed like he thought that i was being rude, and i believe that he talked to his coworker negatively about me in arabic, as he was Syrian. and then when he gave me the salt, he put...

Traditional no-frills fish and chip shop offering superbly cooked fish and chips at very reasonable prices. We had the special offer (Monday through Wednesday) cod and chips @ £4.50 and it was faultless: the chips had just the right amount of crispness vs soft centres and the fish was white, lightly battered and of very good quality.
