I'm sorry, but I really do not get the hype around this place. I've been here with my friend a couple of times during our holiday, and the drinks are subpar at best. In terms of food, it's average though.
The Vietnamese iced coffee was poorly made and tasted strange, almost powdery to the tongue. I've gotten it two different times, and on both of these occasions, the coffee tasted completely different, yet still not like a Vietnamese coffee.
All while my friend's brown sugar milk tea barely had any sweetness to it and lacked a lot in tapioca pearls, saying it felt like she was just drinking the melting ice. When asked about it, the staff just said they couldn't add any more pearls since that's the amount meant for a cup. Otherwise, it would cost more for extra scoops.
You'd think for the prices, you'd actually get a full and at least decently made drink.
We also wanted to sit outside for the atmosphere, but the windows were genuinely so uncared for, that I didn't even feel comfortable to be seated near them, so we ended up having to dine inside where the music was simply blaring the entire time.
I would like to say this was a one-time experience, but unfortunately, it's not, as every time we came by, it was all the same, except for the staff. Strangely enough, there would be new staff every time, and there would barely be any of the last staff we've met, that could just be inside issues but I find it weird for one single shop to have such frequent switches while nothing else in the atmosphere or actual menu quality changes.
For any tourists or people simply interested, I would actually recommend going to another boba shop, Mooboo, nearby. The drinks were up to standard and no strange upcharge just to get the average tapioca...
Read moreI've loved bubble tea long before it became a trend and love finding somewhere new. I spotted this place in Windsor, thought it looked cute so paid a visit. The first time, the service was unnecessarily long but I overlooked it as the drinks were nice and I love supporting independents. I recommended it when I returned with other family a few days later. Service was long again, completely skipped one of our orders but again overlooked. One of our drinks was undrinkable, tasted like soap so I thought I would exchange it for another, as most establishments will do, especially as it was very expensive for bubble tea. They had to call the owner who flat out refused, said we had drunk half of it already. No attempt to fix the situation was made other than adding more ice and sweetness (already 100% sweet). No apology was offered nor a refund but I was schooled in how bubble tea is made and how they are different so theirs tastes different to other places. Such a shame that the customer service was so bad on multiple levels as I thought I had found a new place to go in Windsor with my bubble tea loving family and friends. Unfortunately they care more about impressing tik tok and Instagram 'stars' than real paying customers if you look at the previous manager responses. Perhaps if I was an Instagram celebrity, the outcome would have been different. P.s I'm not one to leave a bad review, if you look at my history, but I was disappointed that given how expensive the bubble teas were that an adequate solution was...
Read moreI was happy to see a place aesthetically pleasing and one that accepted work experience. 1.I applied and was accepted after many inconsistent replies however unfortunately my friend who sent 2 emails (after her 4 hour trial shift) was rejected because she was being “rude”. On the first day my application said i was to work from 10-6pm. Unfortunately i got sick and wasnt feeling well. The manager would not let me leave and told me i was to finish my shift at 9pm (im a minor) I missed my train- funnily enough all other trains were cancelled for that day so me and my friends had to come up with another way to get home. This wouldn’t have happened if we had been allowed to leave on time. I was overworked and exploited for longer than i should have and make us clean overtime relentlessly- on top of the 8 hours we were already working (we aren’t paid for work experience) I and other workers were selfishly overworked for the owners benefit and free labour. We had to stay back an EXTRA 3 hours on top of the 8 hours we were meant to work as well as having only one 30minute break. Do not support this cheapskate of a business owner who i tried very hard to sympathise with but overworking barely 15 year olds and using them as free labour is disgraceful, disrespectful...
