What a disappointment! Holidaying in the area and as we drove past we thought this looked a lovely little place. Got there and I was surprised that there were 3 steps to walk up and down and no handrail. Only appeared to be seating outside, along with a dustbin. The tables were rotating customers quite quickly but no one came out and wiped or cleaned the tables in between customers. The waitress taking the orders was friendly and helpful. We ordered a hot coffee and an iced coffee along with a sausage roll and a biscoff slice. We went and sat at a table outside, there didn't appear to be any seating inside. Another girl came out the back a few minutes later and threw two paper bags on the table and walked away. No "enjoy" or "which one is the sausage roll?" etc. I was really shocked. So no plates, no napkins, no service. I went in and saw some napkins on a shelf in the window. I was looking for cutlery, like a knife and saw one in a pot I was just about to take but then saw it said above it, thank you for putting your rubbish here! Right at the side of the napkins! No toilet either, not even for use by disabled people, which I thought was illegal??! A couple came in just behind us and sat by us and they were saying "how appalled" they were! And whoever named the biscoff slice clearly hadn't made it with any lotus biscoff as it didn't taste anything like. Yes, all round a BIG...
Read moreDO NOT VISIT WITH BABIES / TODDLERS... updated review to account for owners reply. Please note this place IS NOT a safe place to visit with babies/toddlers as despite there being high chairs in the cafe there is nowhere safe/sanitary available to change your child. The only option is a mat on the freezing cold, dirty floor of an outside toilet, right next to the toilet bowl. We visited on a freezing cold day in February and after discovering this issue (we'd already ordered/paid/eaten) we asked to change our 6.5 month old discretly in a corner inside her own pram. We were refused by staff who then repeatedly told us the "baby change facility " (mat on cold, dirty floor of outdoor toilet) was an acceptable place to change our child. At no point were we offered the indoor staff toilet to use as the owner pretends you would be. I would strongly suggest you read through the negative reviews (which we'd sadly overlooked before entering here) which give you a more realistic flavour of the disdain the staff have for customers. The quality of food is really not high enough that you'd want to overlook all the downsides. I'd recommend if you have a family you go to Taylors over the road instead of this place from the start - they were so family friendly they let us change our baby even though we hadn't eaten or drunk...
Read moreWe popped in here for somehing to eat because the Watermark cafe around the corner had a huge queue with one person serving. I'm happy to say I'm glad we did we sat straight down, ordered and in a short time we had our food. Unfortunatey, my wife had a cheese and onion pasty which was more pastry than filling, I on the other hand had a pannini which was great. However, it was made up by the Ice-cream we had which was fab an not skimpy on the portions. All was very reasonably priced, good atmosphere and great service. This place is definitely worth visiting just for the service and price, the pasty i would suggest was a bought in, heat up and serve product (maybe they need to change suppliers). from what i could see and ate portions were good and looked and tasted great. I would say there is good w/chair access and also a outside...
