*TAKEAWAY REVIEW* Peters pizzeria is one of the only places where I can order pizza without hesitation. I I've never had Italian style pizza and the wonderfully talented chefs at peters pizzeria completely changed my perception on how pizza should be. Everything about their pizza, personally, is spot on: I absolutely love the thin crust, in comparison to pizza chains and some other premium local pizzerias (e.g zizzi's), it is far more superior for one simple reason; thicker crust, simply soaks up the tomato sauce which alters its flavour. The tomato sauce used for pizzas should taste like fresh tomatoes, and peters pizzeria delivers just that. I've recently noticed how much the tomato sauce contributes to the flavour of the pizza, and I've come to a conclusion that its that key ingredient which mostly separates how pizza tastes from different chains and restaurants. My first order from peters pizzeria was a couple of months ago. And since then, I've never had a pizza from an american style pizza chain. I used to order pizza from dominos with many toppings, expecting it to taste great, but every time I felt nothing but disappointment. The only pizza I order from peters, is queen margherita with spinach, occasionally I would add either mushrooms or ham. The moment I had their margherita, I realised how wrong I was when I was expecting that pizza from dominos to taste great just because it had so many toppings on it. Pro tip: If you want great tasting pizza, think about the fundamentals of the pizza, not the additional toppings. The price of a margherita at peters is £7 which is well worth the quality. In fact, if I had the option to choose between a large £20 pizza from dominos and a £7 margherita from peters, I would much rather choose the margherita. This place completely changed my perspective on pizza, and I will definitely order again.

I've been to Peter's pizza in the past various times, for pizza, ping pong & social events upstairs, but never knew about the history of the place. Last saturday I went with a couple of Italian guys including 1 who'd previously been a pizzaiuole there / pizza chef. I learnt for the 1st time the place is owned by a local guy who is half Italian from Naples & from the UK & named after a pizzeria in Naples. If it's the pizzeria di Pietro I'm thinking of, I've been there, & it's known in Naples as the best, most traditional pizzeria in the city by the locals; so it was interesting to learn about the history & connection to the heart of pizza making. The pizzas we had were great, all baked freshly in the dedicated pizza oven, & we were even met by one of the Italian chefs who came over. It was great to verify the pizzas were 100% authentic traditional Italian the Napolitan way. We even found more details on the menu how the original Margerita pizza was created. It was great to learn a bit of Italian pizza history at the same time as having a great pizza. Again unfortunately this review fails to document the actual pizza since once it arrived I was too distracted to think of taking photos. Suffice to say it was proper pizza, & tasted perfect. "Una pizza perfetto da Pietro". The whole place has a great vibe, with lots of querky decor, & events upstairs, they had comedy on when we were there. Much enjoyed, grazie ragazzi, thank you guys!

My daughter and I are huge pizza fans and drove from Corby one Saturday lunchtime, having read online reviews for Peter Pizzeria. Unfortunately, even though we arrived just as the place was opening, we weren’t able to get a seat in the restaurant as the entire ground floor was booked for a children’s birthday party. We were a little surprised and disappointed by this, and a member of staff suggested that we should have called ahead to confirm availability. So, we ordered two pizzas to take out, (Diavola from memory) and went and sat on the steps in the foyer to eat. The pizza was good, not the best we’ve eaten, but certainly better than the big chains. As we sat on the steps, a number of people walked past us on the way into the restaurant, only to exit soon afterwards having been told the same as us. The staff were friendly, the premises nice and quite quirky (an old office building of some sort) and the food was ready in around 5 minutes. So, mixed feelings… food was good, not great. Premises good. Decision to hold a child’s birthday party on a Saturday lunchtime, questionable.

I'd been to Peters Pizzeria before so I already knew the food here was really good! However, my boyfriend and I came here for our date night last week and some of the service was really weird, creating a strange atmosphere for us. When we arrived, we were greeted by a tall male server waiting by the desk. Before even looking up and saying 'Hello' to acknowledge us, we were greeted with 'Have you booked?'. I said we hadn't. The server then grabbed 2 menus and started walking away from us into the dining room. No eye contact. No friendliness. No nothing. He just pointed to 2 chairs. The restaurant and bar weren't busy so we were unsure why we had been greeted with such rudeness, I could understand if they were having a really busy night but the place was dead! The cutlery they expected us to use was in a dirty pot on the table. The cutlery had also been put in face down.. (handles in the air) which really put us off using them and we asked for clean cutlery. For some reason, they have started putting 'You're not vegan, are you?" on their menus. My boyfriend and I have been vegan for 3 years, so we felt weird and almost resilient to want to veganise our pizzas like we usually do. Why would you not want vegans to eat at your place when you advertise vegan options on deliveroo? We felt personally attacked. It was so weird. Throughout our meal, the staff whom were all stood by the desk that we were 'greeted' at, were all stood around laughing and shouting.. allowing the noise to spill into the restaurant and disrupt dinners. The restaurant wasn't busy (3 tables of 2) yet the staff continued to ignore the relaxed setting of the room. The rude male that had greeted us then began to start throwing empty glass bottles into the rubbish bin.. 1 at a time.. for about 5 minutes. The sound was like sitting in a car park! It was unbearable! How is this a comfortable atmosphere? That night we were both celebrating a special occasion to us but the atmosphere within Peters Pizzeria made us want to eat up quick and get out of there! What a weird experience. I wish I'd have got the name of that...

The building and decor is very cool and quirky. Vintage theme is really nice.

However, the staff who seated us wasn’t particularly friendly to start off with, but nothing too bad. We eventually placed our order for starters, mains and drinks for the four of us. The drinks came over quickly and so far so good.

About 10 minutes after placing the order the Pizza's were ready and came to the table. Considering we only ordered olives and bread as starters we were a bit confused why the starters hadn’t turned up but we waited a bit longer and started on the pizzas whilst they were fresh and hot. Pizzas we ok, base was a bit too thin so the toppings were sliding off and it was soggy. But tasted okay none the less.

By the time we’d eaten through 1/2 of our pizzas the starters still hadn’t turned up. The staff also hadn’t come to check on us if our food was okay or if we needed anything. There was only our table of 4 and one other table of 2 in the whole place at the time so it wasn’t as if it was busy at all.

By now all the pizzas we had were finished and one of us had to get up and look for the staff to find out what’s going on. When we asked the staff where our starters were he just said “Oh I forgot” no apologetic tone or anything to him. We obviously cancelled the starter as it was a waste of time now. Totally dissatisfied with the service we got up and went to the till to pay. After mentioning that we weren’t happy with the service and asked for anything that he could do about it because they forgot part of our meal. The same staff said “I didn’t charge the starter, so that’s it”. Again no apologetic tone or anything, his attitude was very poor, rude and arrogant. He didn’t even thank us after payment or anything. He just took the payment and walked away.

Overall this was a terrible customer service experience. The service and attitude of the staff was terrible. Food was average at best. Very disappointed with the place. Probably won’t...
