Inexpensive & cheerful udon lunch in Leicester 🍜 After a meeting in Leicester, I went to @kurukurusushi_leicester having lunch. It’s a small and cozy shop. Their famous dishes should be sushi. When I was waiting for a seat, I heard a couple saying that ‘the sushi is as good as usual!’. I didn’t choose sushi for my lunch. Instead, their udon caught my eyes. Why? The Thankri udon just costed £3.50🤩 WHAT I GOT 🥟Vegetable gyoza £2.10 🍥Agedashi Tofu £1.60 🍜Thanuki Udon £3.50 Thanuki udon came with tempura batter, tempura vegetables, wakame, spring onion and shoyu broth. The udon noodles were springy and bouncy. Love it! Agedashi tofu was deep fried tofu in Tsuyu (a sauce with Dashi, mirin & soy sauce). The tofu was crispy outside and soft inside. While it soaked in the savoury sauce, the combined tastes were amazing😍 How’s the gyoza? See me next post on Instagram @ccgyozalover😋 This was absolutely a decent, inexpensive and cheerful udon lunch. Leicester foodies are so lucky to have this in town.

Best value for money Japanese restaurant in Leicester without a doubt. Kuru Kuru offer authentic experience of Japanese dishes, ranging from Udon, Soba, and sushi. Hot food price starts from only 3.5 Pounds which is truly cheap. The portion size is moderate but the taste is better than the other big names around Leicester city center without a doubt. The atmosphere of the restaurant is truly heartfelt and cozy just like restaurant in Japan due to the decoration. The chef is very polite and he makes each sushi with delicacy and technique. Same goes for the staffs who are truly service minded, very polite and never fails to put a smile on their faces. Ultimately, I highly recommended the restaurant for both dine in and takeaways. (If you wish to dine in please call in and make reservations due to the limited seats that's available in the restaurant).

One of the best and cheapest Japanese joints in Leicester. This small restaurant (I mean small there is 3 small benches) is one of the most delicious places serving some quality Japanese food. Located in close proximity to DMU campus and the town centre its a popular spot. The food is always fresh and delicious and the staff are willing to cater to any dietary requirements. I've been numerous times, I definetly recommend... - chicken katsu curry £7 - California roll £2.10 - Nori Thama roll £2.70 -Chicken teriyaki roll (8 piece) £4 -tempura udon - £4 -cucumber /avocado maki - £1.80 Open 12-3 for lunch and then 5-10 for dinner. Its definetly popular so seating is luck of the draw. People are usually more than willing to share benches though so if you don't mind a cozy experience, it's the perfect place.

Not even worth 1 star. Came here because it has such an incredible review rating and its a local business but it was just awful. The wasabi is a cheap replica that comes in a pot on the table all dry and nasty looking.. the nigiri is basicially cold rice shaped with a slice of sashimi on top.. didnt blend or taste or look fresh. Ordered a katsu curry and teriyaki salmon didnt hear pans or cooking watched the girl stand there and wait for the microwave to finish.. when challenged they claimed it was cooked in a special pan .. either way not fresh and just steaming with heat. Told the manager/chef said they had a different wasabi on request? Mentioned that the 4 eho rating on the door didnt give me much confidence and should have been a warning it was no good. Have eaten lots of japanese food in many restaurants in the UK and japan and this is NOT AUTHENTIC and poor food quality with questionable FOOD SAFETY STANDARDS reflected in their scores on the doors. No music or ambience.. felt sorry for the poor girl who seemed genuinely embarrassed about our challenges. I did say to the chef maybe it was a bad day but how disappointed we were. Spent 25 quid for some nigiri and a disgraceful bowl of salmon teriyaki that was left untouched (katsu taken off bill as couldnt contemplate eating it) left so disappointed after a great date night with the fella and we have come to Leicester before for some amazing sushi at competitors and in this market you have to stand out. This place did but for all the wrong reasons. Gave my feedback direct to the owner hope they take it in the constructive way it was intended. Would like to go back again and see out of morbid curiosity and hope they have taken it on board and genuinely to deliver decent quality Japanese food in Leicester. Such a dampner on a brilliajt...

2 months ago was 5 starts!!! Now 1 star!!! I had the delivery last Friday and it was absolutely dreadful... Sashimi not fresh, tuna missing a piece & tasted off, scallops split so thin and also a bit off... Salmon sashimi was ok... The sweet shrimp sushi oh my god rice were rock hard... (Yes never had sushi with hard dry rice before!) and shrimp not fresh either... California roll & salmon avocado roll also hard and tasteless... Tempura undo was okay as the undo itself is still great and the tempura prawns still nice hot and crispy... But... Those tempura veggies were cold and you can tell it's been out for ages, not like the prawns freshly fried... I had to spit those veggies out... The soup base wasn't as good as last 2 times... Overall I was super disappointed as I had amazing food twice before which we bought takeaway from the shop... This is the first time we ordered delivery which maybe the last!!! I am very sad because I thought I found a true Japanese sushi place in Leicester... I still cannot believe what I had tonight and one more thing, I had stomachache after the meal... And I am still up with the toilet runs... What happened? Did you guys recently change chief? Or hired someone else to do the job? My review 2 months ago -------- Hubby bought me takeaway and I was amazed by the food!!!!!!!! Tempura Udon amazing! tempura still crispy and the soup base is to the point... Udon is definitely handmade! Had handrolls and sushi roll......
