We have visited twice this week and the difference from other restaurants is clear the moment you are greeted and taken to your table. It has the same level of service and attention to detail as an international airline - business class. All we wanted was a sharing early afternoon cream tea - and some fries! We had witnessed other customers on the receiving end of this choice a couple of days before and it looked amazing. The whole Porthmeor Beach Cafe team are smartly dressed in the Brand and immaculately turned out. The restaurant was very busy, but there was no rushing around. The Maître d' ensured everything ran smoothly along the whole length of the beach-side establishment. It was clear that some tables would be spending considerably more than us on this occasion, but the respect, friendliness and good humour of each team member was extended to all. When the food arrived we asked if it was a strange to receive an order of fries and cream tea, to which the waitress leaned in and said, 'Not at all, chips with chocolate is even better!' Needless to say, the fries were amazing and the cream tea to die for - only to be upstaged by the quality of the team who were a credit to their managers and company. Fabulous. Thank you. We'll be back.

Me and my partner have been coming here for years now, and it seems to only get better. The breakfast is solid but it really shines at lunch and dinner, with great views, and new and improved drinks menu with some smashing cocktails and more importantly, some GREAT and creative mocktails! The view and sunset is unmatched and this place will always be up there on our list. The food is tapas style dining for a sharing experience or you can order larger plates that are actually full meals unlike other small plate restaurants. From our most recent visit, the lemon sole was gorgeous, I highly recommend that, as well as the broccoli lol, it was so good. The desserts are pretty good too, though aren’t ever quite as good as the main dishes. All in all, a lovely restaurant with lovely service. It’s not cheap, but for the standard of food and the views, you simply can’t go wrong.

Thank you so much for making my birthday so special, I really did have the best time on Friday 5/7 . Lovely welcome for the 2 of us plus bob the dog (really sorry we double booked you were so nice about it , it was totally my fault) delicious drinks and food, I mean kimchi fritters - who knew, so delicious and the aubergine dish , generally I think of aubergine as the devils food but it was so tasty, I’m a convert now. All the food was so good . The service was lovely it was all just great - I know I look like I just sat on a drawing pin in the picture but seriously I was having the best time. Great to be able to bring bob the dog too, he was waiting expectantly under the table for any scraps - sorry Bob we ate the lot. So pleased to see you so busy - my advice to anyone - you need to book.

Amazing experience! The cafe is next to the beach where the view is stunning. We were greeted very warmly as soon as we walked in. Our server was super nice, helpful, and very attentive. The food was excellent. Very fresh, very tasty, and presented amazingly! The seabass was cooked to perfection. It's very tasty, juicy, and seared nicely for texture. The pork had a really nice crackling and very tasty. The aubergine was very nice. I just hoped there's more aubergine and a bit less chickpea mix, but it was still very delicious. The Hummus was to die for and complimented with a nice warm bread. The rosemary chips were very nice, and the aioli really went well with it. They dont have mocktails, but they went above and beyond by making me one! Highly recommended!

Our favourite restaurant in st ives! The food here is always amazing - we come every year. One tip is to book as far in advance as you can as tables get booked up quickly. We always opt for the tapas over the main dishes as it’s just our preference but they always look great. The tapas is delicious and they often change the menu so there are different bits to try. A few favourites are the squid, prawns and the Aranchini which is one of the best we’ve ever eaten. It’s a pretty casual setting even in the evening which gives it a nice relaxed feel. The service is warm and friendly and they always have lots of staff on which means it’s quick too! There’s a good choice of drinks including local wines and a small cocktail menu. We will be back next year!

Great experience for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The booths are very cosy, under cover and have a great sea view. There's also a heater if it gets cold. Breakfast is the best time to visit if you don't have a reservation. We visited for lunch this time and ordered a variety of tapas to share and some lunch dishes. Some of the smaller dishes are not ideally plated for sharing (the sweet potato, mackeral toast) but all are high quality and showcase a variety of flavours whilst still working well together. The crab sandwich was substantial but seemed a bit more of a casual cafe lunch dish - I wish it used the same thick bread that came with the tapas dishes. Staff are friendly and all were wearing masks and adhering to social distancing.
