My husband and i had booked a room and evening meal mid week . The room was fairly basic with a very odd addition of the ceiling light shaped like a caged ball about two foot off the centre of the bed . Every time i sat up i smacked my head on it . But thats not the main issue. We booked a table for 7pm . Which we were shown to quite promptly by the restaurant manager. By 7.20pm we asked if someone could take our order or at the very least serve us some drinks . The manager apologised and our starters came out to us eventually after waiting 45minutes . A couple who came sat on the table next to us got served . After waiting for our main meal which at this time was now 8.15pm we complained to the manager who said we were shouting at him and very much started acting like he was a victim .my husband and i did not at any point of our complaint shout at him at all . He offered our drinks free of of charge. But then accused my husband and I of looking for a free meal and that we were doing this on purpose. (My husband's company had paid for all of this for us as it was our anniversary)Then all we had was a repeat of thank you's from him as he wasnt interested at all in how he embarrassed us in front of his staff and other diners . We had to leave as we were still without food at 8.30pm so we went to the restaurant opposite.the unfortunate thing is we had to come back and stay in our booked room . So I would like to say "Thank You" to the manager for ruining our anniversary and please consider a career move such as book keeping as you do not have any front of house customer skills at all. I know as I'm in customer service and I would be extremely upset if my colleagues treated anyone the way this manager treated us . But ...the wine that we did have was lovely and the ravioli starter was bland .

After a lovely day on the dog friendly beach, near the cobb, where the majority of the boat trips start, we were ready for some food at a dog friendly venue On our way to the beach, we had looked at @rockpointinn menu outside the entrance We saw something we thought might be okay, lamb kofta, fries, yoghurt dip, reasonably priced , so we went in Found a table on the terrace, got talking to the previous occupants who also had a dog, and then the server brought the menus. Surprise the kofta wasn't on the menu, so when, I went to order our food and drinks, I asked why it wasn't on, ah that will be our lunchtime menu, which we stop serving at 3pm, maybe the management should make this clear on the noticeboard, or just change the menus. I only mentioned this in the review because after we had ordered our food, the table next to us wanted to order the same dish and had the same issue. We ordered the half rack of ribs, cajun chicken combo, with fries, mixed leaves, and beetroot slaw , wow massive portions, good job we had been swimming with the dog and were ready for a feast, it didn't disappoint. The only other point, which seems to happen wherever you eat, is when having a salad or mixed leaves, put the dressing in a pot, I love it, but not everyone does, at least give the Customers a choice. But if you're in Lyme Regis, give them a try, plenty of cosy tables inside as well, very friendly staff

Lovely cosy pub right by the sea. Amazing pictures throughout showing all the historic events of the pub and surrounding area. Great selection of drinks and free sift drink after first order for those who like to stay on the right side of the law. Nit just limited to coke and lemonade too but all soft drinks whivh came as a surprise. Staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Food was at prices I would expect and we were going to try the lunch menu but they had no toppings for the burgers so we went elsewhere. Did come back after some chips as it was such a nice atmosphere. Toilets were very clean but quite a long steep staircase to get to them. Nit an issue for me but an elderly lady was obviously finding it a bit arduous. Fantastic views from each side of the bar. Didn't explore the whole place but I expect its the same throughout. Definitely worth a visit if you like a tipple with a view!

Go elsewhere if you're vegetarian, vegan or gluten free! Some badly trained staff (not everyone) No acknowledgement of mistakes Things advertised on menu are not available Over an hour to get food Overpriced

We don't often write bad reviews (only if it's really really bad) but we had a terrible experience here for dinner. Had booked a table for 6.30pm and checked when calling about 2 specific dishes that were on the menu that we'd want to order and were told 1 was not available but we liked the sound of the others so we decided to go here (they were vegetarian an gluten free options so we had to preplan it as not too many options).

When we arrived we were told that the two dishes we wanted were not available because of supply issues. We then picked another 2 options which were not ideal but again 1 of them was not available. Baffles me why we were not informed about these supply issues when we first called. We called up other restaurants but ofcourse they were fully booked at the last minute so were stuck to order something...in the end we ordered a salad and a burger.

Unfortunately the food took over an hour to arrive! (it wasn't even that busy in the restaurant). How it can take that long to make a salad and burger I have no idea. The staff were trying but were badly trained and did not check in with us or apologise for the long wait and one of the waitresses just ignored us and spoke very rudely.in a passive aggressive way. The salad arrived without any cheese and the waitress lied and said it was in the sauce. She also didn't bother coming to check if our food was okay but did so with other tables so it was quite rude to be treated like that.

In the end the food was terrible (the salad basically just 2 pieces of lettuce with sauce on top) and that's it. No flavour and the worst part was that we weren't even offered any discount or anything complimentary for the long wait and poor food provided.

Go elsewhere, it's not worth...

We ate here two weeks ago and had a good experience, sadly not tonight. When checking in I asked if we could have a free table by the window overlooking the sea. It was explained this was already reserved for a hotel guest - fair enough. We were seated in a corner. Ordered our drinks and that was the last time a waiter/waitress returned to our table willingly. Called waitress over to order a starter - arrived promptly. Waited and waited for plate to be taken, never happened. Finally called a waiter over to ask where our mains were (approaching an hour), he explained as the starter plate hadn't been collected the mains wont be 'called down'. I complained and they then rushed to get us our mains which arrived and were very good. Never saw a waiter or waitress again, they were serving others around us and collecting plates etc. but we were completely ignored. Never got asked for a second drinks order. We wanted a desert but had enough of trying to get service so gave up. Called to the waitress (again) to get our bill. On leaving noted that despite being in the restaurant for nearly two hours the reserved table with a sea view was still empty. Raised this and the service with 'one' of the Managers who was very apologetic. This meal was the first trip out my elderly mother has had in nearly 15 months and was hugely disappointing due to service. Food couldn't be faulted by the way but the stress of trying to be a customer and get service ruined it. Very...
