We popped in here just before closing time a couple of weeks ago. I spend a minute looking at the pasties through the window, they looked nice but not exactly the flavours I fancied, so we popped in to see if they had any more. When we went in I could see there wasn't anything else available, so I decided not to buy anything. My friend asked if they could do her a scone with butter to take away, she was quite bluntly told no, but they could chuck a scone in a bag for her without any butter. This wasn't what my friend wanted, so we left. Whilst we were stood outside we could hear shouting from inside the cafe, to my horror I heard the girl who we just spoke to in the cafe shout at the top of her voice 'how can they stand there for 5 minutes looking in the window, come in, then decide they don't want anything?...I HATE PEOPLE!' I've never encountered such rudeness from someone working in a shop before, safe to say I will not be going back, or...

This is such a great place to eat - has to be the best cafe in Lyme.

We stopped in here for a family lunch - 4 adults and 2 kids. Everyone ordered different things from the menu and special boards, and everything was, without exception, absolutely brilliant.

This is a place where they insist on using great quality local ingredients, and the chefs really know how to use them.

I had the kippers and poached eggs, which were perfect and I'd be quite happy having for lunch every day! Other choices at our table were a salad, panini, pasty, a sandwich, and eggs royal. Everything was polished off, and the whole family commented on how excellent the food was.

To top it off, all the staff are friendly, helpful, and clearly take pride in this place. And the interior... with it's amazing collection of surf boards and music memorabilia, is right up my street.

Will unquestionably return next time I'm...

I walked in this cafe not holding out much hope that’s they would have much to offer that is GF as no where seems to! We were greeted by lovely friendly staff who informed me that the majority of their menu was GF or the items could be modified to become gf! We sat in the snug and were quickly seen to and bought our drinks. Now whenever I have something with gf bread it is NEVER buttered and unbelievably dry. I ordered the poached egg with avocado and the toast was buttered! The crispy chilli oil it came with was one of the best things I have ever tasted and I wish they sold it in jars! My Husband had a well filled fresh baguette which came with a full side salad with a dressing (which he loved) and my children had well portioned sandwiches. Super friendly staff from start to finish and they even help us when we asked about fossil hunting. An absolute...

I always figure you can’t go wrong with a bacon roll. A good test of a place. Unfortunately it was a disappointment. For £5.50 and a 15 mins wait (was not busy) I opened my roll to find fatty almost streaky bacon. After removing the fat I was left with two or three bites of roll and bacon. If it is streaky back then it should state that. If it is fatty bacon then I would expect to be giving more than 2 slices. Staff were lovely and friendly and the place and other foods did look good. It was a bacon roll fail for me.
