Disappointed with the attitude of the female serving at the brewery this lunchtime (29 March). Unbeknown to my wife and I, we were sitting at a table in the courtyard enjoying a coffee from a coffee shop in the courtyard, when this female came over us and in quite a loud voice explained that we could not sit at the table unless we had purchased drink from the brewery (there were no signs in the courtyard stating this). I questioned this and clearly this upset the female. I did say that I was intending to purchase drinks from the brewery. However the female was insistent, so my wife took our drinks over to another table, which apparently is not a table subject to the restrictions imposed by the brewery. I remained at the original table to finish my coffee and then moved to join my wife. I then went into the brewery shop and ordered 2 bottles of their alcoholic drink. This very excitable and clearly emotional female refused to serve me, stating in a clearly visibly upset way, that I was rude to her. I tried to calm her down but to no avail. Later I spoke with the manager, Alan, and we (my wife and I)explained our concerns and our version of what had happened. He apologised that the signs on the seating conditions had not been set out. This was the first time we had been to the courtyard and to the brewery shop and we were completely unaware of the conditions of seating on...
Read moreSo I'm a big fan of dark beers, specifically porters and stouts. My favorite beer of all time until now was Fullers London porter, but as of now, "black ven" from Lyme Regis Brewery is my favorite one. I couldnt get enough of the rich taste of it. Also, I'm not a big fan of ALE, but I tried their golden ale and again, it was magnificent. I don't know if it's the love that they put on them or what bur they are fantastic. One thing to note is that "black ven" is considered a London Porter, I honestly don't know the difference of what makes a porter or a london porter.
The staff were always super gently, great time I had chatting in there and listening to very relaxing funky house music.
From my trip to Lyme regis, this brewery was my favorite part of it all, great service, great beer and very nice people that work in there. Specially Fonz and Sam, always serving with a big smile and up for a...
Read moreA great little bar! We've been coming here for about 10 yrs maybe and it always has a nice friendly atmosphere, great beers, larger and cider. there are also soft drinks and crisps but no food. Usually you'll find a seat somewhere and other drinkers are happy to share their tables. It's in a nice central spot with a car park and dinning options close by. It's dog friendly, children are also allowed if not going bonkers all over the place. It's wheelchair accessible to the outside seating area but unfortunately it wouldn't be possible inside I think but the bar is so close to the door that making a drink choice could be made from outside easily. The staff are friendly and the prices are about average for nowadays. All in all its well worth stopping in and enjoying a nice drink and a little break form...
