Excellent micropub in superb location.
Superb range of 4 cask beers poured from gravity in the cold room, alongside 8 keg and key keg taps, all at very reasonable prices. The fridge looked varied as well.
As ever with micropubs it’s the atmosphere and the personality of the venue that makes it - an hour after the 4pm opening time on a Wednesday it was busy and continued to be during my time there, resulting in a great atmosphere. Another fabulous touch was putting water and glasses on each table - this should be the standard.
I also enjoyed, strangely, the men’s urinal, brilliantly made out of a barrel and labelled Carlsbog (reminiscent of another micropub which has a Doom Bar pump as a flusher).

It's not so much the astonishing selection of things to drink but rather whether one likes Colman's or The Other One with the pork pie - the place could do with a couple of obnoxious overbearing bouncers in black but the dedicated staff seem to be able deal with all of the muggings despite pouring hundreds of drinks and running all over the place keeping everything where it belongs. They normally have between 3 and 5 real ales on and lots more craft beers. Many beers are from local breweries and it’s a friendly place with a blend of locals and visitors.
