The splash park is lots of fun for children and builds on the educational elements of water play with the use of dams etc. The play park area next to the splash park has lots of elements to it including a swing that's been adapted to offer more support to a child who may have additional needs. There are toilets just across the grass. The grassy area is lovely for a picnic and games (if not too busy!). Dogs are welcome here too. So I was devastated to be told that it was under review for potential closer!!?? I know mums that travel 5-10 miles to make use of this fenced in watwr play area. As a Mum, I truly appreciate this 'Council funded' play area. It is so well maintained and gives me peace of mind that our wee tiddlies can play safely, keep cool and build their confidence in and around water. We arrived in the morning on a sunny day and took the kids over to go in. We were told at the gate that all the slots were full and nothing was available until 1pm. Kids cried they’re eyes out and after talking to the chap on the gate, I found out people had already booked the earlier places. I went onto the Gosport BC website and it says nothing about booking. I went back to the chap and complained and was then let in.
