Have been dying to try this since it opened as we both love any Mediterranean style food - was hoping the fact we now had a local Turkish restaurant, that it would live up to expectations….and it didn’t disappoint. On this occasion we ordered takeout and when we rung and ordered, we were told it would be ready in 15 mins so by the time we got our trainers on, got in the car and made our way into town it was virtual ready. We chose the Merham Mix for two and what a box of delights. Two fresh Turkish flatbreads cut in half. Four freshly made dips including a fab humus. A lovely colourful fresh salad with fresh mint and a sprinkling of dried herbs and lemon wedge, and a huge tray of mixed meats (chicken wings, koftas, steak and chicken shishkabab meat, lamb ribs and pork ribs) on a bed of chips (or rice if you prefer). A real Turkish feast and we couldn’t finish the bread (but saved it for later) and left a couple of ribs because we were STUFFED! Very impressed. Everything was fresh and colourful and tasty. Next time we will eat in the restaurant as it looked lovely and had a great vibe. Well done Merham Kitchen. Will...
Read moreOMG... Where should I start. This was the first time I went there, as I was visiting a friend who lives at about 1h and a half.
Service: a great welcome with a big smile on their faces. Always there if you needed something. Food: my friend had lentil soup as a starter and me and the other one decided not to go for a starter. Well, surprise!! We all had a free starter with 6 dips and naan style bread but I believe it was Turkish. Anyway, I tried that soup because I was intrigued by my friend's reaction 🧐.... Pfff 🤯😵💫 it was the most amazing thing I ever tried. It came to the main menu, that spice they use it's 🤔 so unusual and addictive.
Now bare in mind I love Turkish food, I come from a country close to them, and I have a local restaurant to me I visit regularly, but this one has nothing to do with anything I have tried so far. Going back to the food, because of the huge starter, I ended up having less then half of the main, therefore they also kindly put everything for taking away! Paid 19,99 for the main + 2.99 for a tea to eat once and I ate twice!!
Will I ever go back there despite the...
Read moreI believe most people eating here & giving it 5 stars come from the local village with either little or no experience of proper Turkish food. I regularly eat authentic Turkish food so I know this restaurant is missing the mark. We ordered Beetroot Yoghurt dip & Ali Nazik with lamb, aubergines yoghurt & butter - except there was no aubergine in it, though it did taste good, as did the Beetroot Dip, however the bread was awful - rock hard & overcooked. The waitress didn't care. The mix of mini starters & salad provided to every table was good. Mains left me needing a bathroom overnight. I wanted a Beyti Kebab but they were out of tortilla or pita bread, so the waitress recommended Iskender Adana which was awful. It was supposed to be lamb kofte, lamb shish & bread in tomato sauce - it was almost all kofte & bread, 3 thumbnail sized pieces of lamb shish & the tomato sauce is obviously off or stored incorrectly. Mix grill was a good serving size but needed to explain it's for 2 people as it's way too much food for 1. I felt bloated & sick after their tomato sauce, you're welcome to...
