Was staying in a hotel nearby and this place had some good looking pizza reviews!
They don't take bookings but we went in on Saturday evening and was told it would be around an hour wait for a table. They put my name down, took my phone number and said they'd call when the table was ready. It was cold and rainy so we went back to our room to wait. 40 mins later got a call to say the table was ready.
We were seated immediately by the friendly staff and quickly ordered our food and drinks.
Good size pizza with lovely tomato sauce and plenty of perfectly melted cheese. What made the pizza really special, was the amazing crust. The base of the pizza was nice and thin but the crust was lovely, thick and doughy.
I can see why there's often a wait for a table here. We'll definitely be back.
EDITED 1ST SEPTEMBER: We ate here back in February whilst staying in Saltburn and today when we came for a walk on the beach decided to eat here again.
I think we had forgotten how amazing the pizzas were!
The pizzas are big, and the dough is amazing. Really puffy and doughy. Base is thin but not too thin, and a good amount of toppings. Also, the tomato sauce has a really good flavour to it and everything tasted really fresh.
Service was also excellent. The waiter apologised as some of the staff had not arrived, but we honestly didn't have any delays or issues that caused any problems.
Prices are perfect for the amount of food you get, and we will...
Read moreDeciding where to visit on the start of my birthday weekend,we opted for No.23..Having been on numerous occasions and been happy with the service before,we looked forward to a lovely night out.. Sadly,on this occasion,it turned out not to be.. On arrival,it was busy, which adds to a great atmosphere..the only table available was close to the bar, which we did not mind.. On ordering our choice,we asked for the starter to not come at the same time as the main course..no problem,we were informed.. Fifty minutes later, after having a word with the bar staff, the starter arrived.. Then literally 5mins later the main course arrived.. It was obvious that the main was prepared as the same time as the starter..as the main course was cold!!. The staff senced that we were not happy as they never once came back to ask if was ok or to clear the plates, one of which was hardly touched. .with only one staff member offering their apologies as it comes that way. It will be a while before thinking about returning and as locals, feels like one less option to visit in...
Read moreDuring our recent visit to Saltburn, we discovered No. 23 Milton Street, and it quickly became a favourite. The atmosphere is just right – relaxed, with a cosy and welcoming feel. The decor is stylish without being overdone, making it a comfortable spot to enjoy a meal.
Now, about the pizza – it's genuinely some of the best I've had. I've tried pizzas in Italy and New York, but the ones here are up there with the best. The crust is perfectly crisp, the toppings are fresh and flavourful, and each pizza is clearly made with care.
We enjoyed it so much that we ended up going back a second time during our stay. Sometimes you worry that a second visit might not live up to the first, but we were pleasantly surprised – it was just as good, if not better.
If you're in Saltburn, No. 23 Milton Street is definitely worth a visit. Great food, friendly service (thanks Martha & Sophie), and a lovely atmosphere. Highly...
