We called in here today as it was a special day celebrating and remembering my Dad's life. He loved this fish and chip cafe, so today was a day we went with my Mum. From walking through the door, we were greeted with a lovely young lady with a warm smile, she was very patient whilst we decided what we would like, even advising us of what the fish was and that it was skinless and boneless, just how I prefer. She took our order and gave us the order receipt, advising us that we will be called once the food and drinks were ready. I like how the drinks are served at the same time as the food. The cafe is lovely inside with nautical theme, spotlessly clean and welcoming feel to the place. When the food arrived it was piping hot and absolutely delicious, I will go as far as saying, it was the BEST fish I have ever had, pure white Haddock with a perfectly light and crispy batter, I chose to have salt and vinegar on it. My husband opted for a battered sausage buttie, to which he thoroughly enjoyed. The cafe staff we found all very pleasant and, sitting at a table with a view of the bay (perfect). We visited the loo before we left, which incidentally very again spotlessly clean. I make no wonder my Dad loved this place. A review also in memory of my lovely Dad. Thank you Anchor Fish & Chips, we highly...

Absolutely Terrible service. Just visited here. followed all covid guidelines. (even though may I add we was the only people wearing masks). Met at the door and queued to be allocated a table through a one way system. Ordered our food and noticed people had taken our allocated table. Thought that's fine since our food was taking a while to cook and it was busy. The people wasn't there long. Finally got our food and sat at our allocated dirty table to be met by the rudest waitress I've ever met. She was questioning who told us to sit at the table (it was her and was denying it was since she clearly messed up) . Rudely said This is for queued people. The queue we stood in to get the table. All in all after unsuccessfully trying to explain, ended up having to leave because she just wasnt understanding. I was just getting shrugs and wellllllls. She even tried to say well you should have sat down (but didn't clarify that initially) , and good luck while there is people sat there or on your own and trying to order too. She was very very rude and doing a poor job at simply allocating tables. Been here for many years and gladly won't be back. If you want a stressful, drawn out lunch, asked to leave after paying and being spoken to like trash. here is the...

The food was amazing and served fresh but the customer service really let's the place down. For a relatively smart and friendly place the staff are pure miserable and straight up rude, I had a blonde girl serve me, who refused to tell me her name, when ordering she said she couldn't hear me and to move closer and when repeating myself she says "yeah I heard that obviously" which is not a way someone in customer service should be speaking to customers, I understand it's busy and a tourist town but being disrespected and spoke to in a sparky way making customers feel lesser really needs to be sorted out, I came with 3 friends all if which were disrespected by her when ordering so I hope the attitude changes next time I come around because the food was sublime. If you just want food to go it's alright to put up with but having dirty looks constantly is not appealing for a dine...

Great fish and chip shop right in front of the harbour. Food was really good and was nice and clean inside. The only thing that I didn’t like was when I asked for ketchup, the server said she’d do me 5 for £1 (I don’t like paying for condiments after spending £40 on food) Only for the customer behind me asked if he had to pay for ketchup and the same server said no and gave him a handful of it for free. All in all a great place to eat and there is toilets inside which are also nice and clean.

Went to The Anchor a couple of weeks ago and definitely won't be going anywhere else when I Scarborough. Service was friendly and quick. The fish & chips where stop on and piping hot when we got them. They were a good size portion of chips and fish was big for regular definitely worth the money. There is plenty of seats both inside and out. Will definitely be going back here when back in Scarborough.
