Came here about a year ago with my family and we all had a lovely meal. Unfortunately, today wasn't the same.

Both me and my fiance ordered a beef steak burger, with cheese- came with chips, 2 onion rings, and a salad. The chips that I couldnt stop myself from stealing from my nephew last year, were nowhere near as good this time around. Couldnt finish them.

The salad itself, was fine- but very basic. Came on the side, and the iceberg lettuce was clearly past its best.

Sauces which came with the cutlery, all tasted slightly sour, and were runny. Not nice at all.

Finally, for the burger itself... it tasted like they went up to Wetherspoons, grabbed their burger for £6.50, and served it here for over twice the price. Absolutely sh*t. Edible, I guess. A poor quality plain burger, no sauce, no salad on it, and the plastic poor quality cheese was £1 extra. Appalling food, really. Cherry on top? It upset both of our stomachs after we've left.

As for positives? Well, staff were lovely and really helpful. The service itself was lighting fast (I guess the kitchen cutting corners made that possible).

The interior was, as previously, clean, warm and welcoming.

I would've happily given this feedback to the staff, however we were only asked for feedback once we were done, and my fiancee being too kind as she is, quickly responded with "yes it was fine".

Unfortunately this visit fell well below the standard that it...

All I wanted was to sit down for a quiet drink, look at the menu and maybe I’d order something to eat if I was impressed. Is this too much to ask for? Especially when the pub was literally empty and there was only 1 other couple eating. However the aggressive pushy waitresses managed to make this far more awkward and difficult than it needs to be. I couldn’t pay the barman at the bar but somehow I could the waitress as she walked over to the bar. And then ruining the customers experience by not giving me the choice of where I want to sit down with my drink, insisting I sit at another table and then tell me 1 minute later that the table I chose to sit at was magically reserved (despite it being early evening and the pubs empty). When I told the waitress I’m now only staying for 1 quick drink, the waitress replied she had to “prepare the table”, I looked around and none of the tables were prepared in any way, they were all empty and clean. Just what did she have to do? It’s the staffs blatant lies, dishonesty and lack of integrity from the minute I walked in to when I inevitably walked out in disbelief that ruined this place. Fortunately Scarborough is not short of alternative pubs that gladly accepts customers and won’t...

Ordered a pint and a burger with extra cheese and was asked to pay before the food came out, and now I know why. The last time I saw anything that pallid and beige I was eating a school meal (before Jamie Oliver). Literally bread cheese and a patty, no salad in the bun, no sauce. Girlfriend got the spicy bean burger and it was the same story, why would a vegetarian want salad in their burger? But you don't eat with your eyes so let's have a bash... Oh nevermind, had the texture of a flipflop and the unmistakable taste of frozen thawed economy meat, animal unknown, but I'm checking for jokey silks. Chips were ok, not bad not great, bendy onion rings. Didn't bother to complain as it's not like the chef is gonna go out and buy quality ingredients or change the way they plate up, check back, "everything ok?" " yeah it's ok" "ok"... Ok is not ok, just saying. I will say the fish and chips on the table over from us looked pretty good. That's my compliment for the day done. If youre in a rush and want something cheap, tasty and quick, don't bother, this place is none of those things, get a hotdog and enjoy the true Scarbados experience. Will not...

We found this pub by searching for gluten free eateries before visiting Scarborough & we were not disappointed. The menu has a large selection of gluten free options. My husband enjoyed the vegan chilli & rice. I'm also dairy intolerant and as soon as I said this the waitress went and got the allergen listing so we could ensure I picked something that was suitable - I had the scampi. The rest of our party had a burger & giant Yorkshire pudding with pork. Everything was a decent size and good tasting. The chilli was nice & spicy. Great selection of drinks including non alcoholic alternatives. They made our daughter a yummy decaf caramel latte. We sat indoors, the place is like a TARDIS, from the front it looks tiny with a large outdoor seating area facing the South bay but once inside it goes back a fair way and there is a variety of seating available for varying sized groups. We sat in a bay. Toilets were up th stairs to the rear of the building. We'd definitely visit here again.

We ate here as it looked to have good lunch options. It has both indoor and outdoor seating. Seating inside was fine and there were a couple of cracking suits of armour. Table service was in operation but it was a bit weird, we were told to pay up front (I guess to stop people running off) but also asked to tip before the meal (10/15/20%). How do you know it's not going to be a bad experience when you've just arrived? Thankfully the food was pretty good. We had a Veg Chili, a Scampi, a Burger and a Yorkshire Pudding and Pork. Meals were great, only criticism is the pork was apparently a bit tough. Good drinks options were available. Decent options on the menu and clearly labeled. Would eat here again.

What a place some cheeky geezer named Connor was chatting some bare stuff was glad to see him kicked out I can’t lie his missis needs to teach him a lesson of respect he looks about 45 for gods sake keep yourself under control. Other than that had a great night, found out recently it’s dog friendly can’t wait to bring my staffy, the dark hound he will love it there. Family wanna come visit now they better owe me pints for this recommendation I tell you that now. Anyways bloody great staff if you ask me shoutout to the girl on shift Dk her name had to many pints since then but you made my and my girlfriends night we really appreciate it. Keep up the good work
